Chapter 17: Avoidable

I enter back into the lobby satisfied with what I did only to see everyone in the lobby minus Charlie as they seem to be talking, I approach them. "Yeah, well, her best is turning out real well so far." Husk says and then looks to me which then caused the rest to look at me. 

"Alex where were you? I thought you would've been behind me and Charlie when we got sent back... wait is that angel's blood on you?" Veggie says, causing Angel to have a look of confusion, "I didn't do nothin with him." Angel says in the defense, "not you." Veggie states.

"well I had a bit of a quarrel before I returned." I answer, vague had a bit of a concerned look "What do you mean?" I wipe the blood off me and explain everything that happened, the expression on Husk, Vaggie and Angel, were a bit off shock and concern. "You did WHAT?"

Vaggie yells "hey I asked for 3 questions, nothing more or less not my problem that they couldn't handle my will of not giving a fuck." I answer "Well shit with heaven was already pretty bad can't see this getting worse now." Husk's says with a bottle in his hadn't walking away. 

"Well anyways where is miss 'fearless leader' isn't it time for another doomed-to-fail plan of hers?" Angel asks, "She's upstairs. Coming up with something, I'm sure, in our room... Alone." Vaggie says looking disappointed in herself. 

I soon notice the smile on Alastors face become more of a grinned smile as he then disappears into the shadows and as someone who knows the darkness I followed suit to where he went That's my things and I slowly been watching you, ever since that meeting you invited me and that time I witness with Husk you've been trying to get closer and closer to something of your own personal gain. 

His shadowed body soon reappeared in Charlie and Vaggie's room like I assumed, I hid in his shadow as even if his own shadows had a will of there own, I will CONSUME them. "Oh, Charlie, you look an absolute mess." Alastair says, "Ugh, go away, Alastor." Charlie replies. 

"Now, now is that any way to act after picking a fight with all of Heaven and dooming everyone you love And letting your bodyguard get into his own troubling fight?" Alastor pokes "I have enough on my mind without hearing your sadistic idea of a joke, asshole." Charlie retorts and covers herself with a blanket. "Who's Joking?" Alastor says teleporting next to Charlie and cause her to startle her off the bed which also caused me to move to her shadow.

"You have a captive audience downstairs waiting to hear what kind of inspiring performance you have planned next." Alastor says, "Ugh, I can't. How can I face them after failing them all so hard? They came here to be saved and all I gave them was more pain, and let Alex get left behind. I'm just as bad as the cruelest Overlord in Hell, and maybe worse. At least they don't of around giving false hope." Charlie states as I realized and remember what Husk said before 'she's a bleeding heart that try to solves everyone's problems but her own' she need to save herself before she can save others. "Well, I never expected to see such a miserable display of self-loathing from you" Alastor insults.

"Oh, fuck you Alastor. All you do is stand there, smiling while you watch us struggle and fail. I don't know how you can enjoy all this suffering so much, at least when Alex enjoys it he does it himself." Charlie says, As Alastor spiders his way behind Charlie, which causes me to move my shadow a bit to the left, "Just because you see a smile, don't think you know what's going on underneath. A smile is a valuable tool, my dear. It inspires your friends, keeps your enemies guessing, and ensures that no matter what comes your way, you're the one in control." Alastor says making interesting points, and a helmet can do just the same. 

"I'm the farthest thing from in control. the person I trust most has been lying to me for years. Heaven refuses to listen. Even if they did, I can't prove the hotel works. Adam has an invincible exorcist army pointed right at my doorstep and there's nothing I can do ABOUT ANY OF IT." Charlie shouts, and I notice Alastors face grew a wicked smile as it glowed yellow.
