Lonely World

Skies turn dark,

Rivers turn cold,

Roads falll away,

Faces turn strange.

I fake smiles everyday,

I make lies to keep you happy,

No one is aware,

No one seems to care.

My façade has worked well,

Everyone thinks me to be happy,

As I sit here and wipe tears,

I no longer feel pain.

The numbness is overpowering,

I feel reborn,

Yet I never died,

If I could end it I would.

But as I reach for eternal sleep,

I think of those who'd suffer,

Of people who would not benefit,

And I just plough on though.

Through this lonely world
