Bella's Younger Sister

Chapter 12

When we got to the Hospital, Charlie was waiting for me. "Hey dad." I smile at him.

"Don't 'Hey dad,' me. This is the second time in a week that you have been to the hospital. What on Earth happened?!"

"Well, if you didn't hang up on me earlier, I would have told you." I say. "I flipped off my bike on my way to Seth's house. It's no big deal. I probably hit a rock or something." I lie. I can't tell him that I was ridding through the woods, hoping to spot the black wolf again. Or that I saw someone, or something, run at lightning speed past me, and then a pack of huge wolves chased after that same thing. Yeah, that would go over very well. Note the sarcasm in my voice.

"What am I going to do with you?" He asks.

"Maybe she should live in a plastic bubble!" Seth pipes in. I just glare at him. He should not be giving my dad any ideas.

"Next please." The lady behind the counter say's. "What can I do for you?"

"Yes, I flipped off my bike and I think I broke my arm." I say.

"Okay, your name please?"

"Maya Swan." She continues to ask me the usual questions. Date of birth, and all that jazz.

"Take this Ice-pack and a doctor will be right with you." A nurse leads me into a room and takes my vitals and hands me a few ice-packs. I carefully place them on my arm and Seth and I start talking about what we are going to do when we get back to his place.

"What about video games?" He suggests.

"That would be a good idea, if I didn't have a cast on my left hand. You know, broken arm and knuckles and all." I say.

"We could watch some movies, eat some junk food."

"Okay, but I don't want to do that all day."

"Maybe we can go out for ice cream." Seth say's while looking hopefully at his mom. Seth only has his permit, so he can't drive by himself yet.

"Maybe. Let's just worry about getting her arm looked at for now." Sue say's. I other words, we will go after we are finished here.

"Maya, it's nice to see you again. Well, not under these circumstances." The doctor say's.

"Hello. How are you doing?" I ask.

"I am fine. I want to get an X-ray of your arm and knuckles. I have a feeling that your knuckles may have been moved out of place." I nod my head and follow the nurse to the X-ray room. It's not long before I have a black cast on my arm up to my elbow and following Sue and my dad out of the hospital.

"I will pick you up after my shift." Charlie say's.

"You don't have to do that. I can ride my bike back."

"That is not a good idea since you just got a new cast on your arm." He say's.

"She can spend the night. That way you don't have to make a special trip to La Push, plus it would be good to hang out with her. Plus , she is most likely going to come back tomorrow, this way she will already be here."

"That's up to Maya if she want's to spend the night."

"I don't mind. Can we stop at the house so I can get some clothes?"

"Of course." I give dad a hug and follow Seth to the car. We drive to the house and I notice Bella's truck is here.

"Great. Bella's home." I mumble.

"Are you two fighting or something?" Seth asks as we walk up the steps to the porch.

"Yes, well, not exactly. Last night we made plans to have a sisters day, since I have been home for a few day's and we haven't hung out yet, and she ditched me to hang out with Jake."

"Oh, well that sucks."

"Yeah. I'm fine though. I get to hang out with you, Sue, Harry, and Leah!" He laughs and we go to my room. I grab one of my bags and get some clothes for the night, and tomorrow. I pack some extra one's, just in case, you never know when you will need them. I also pack my phone charger, and my laptop. I leave the picture of Jake and I for now because I still need to get a frame for it.

On our way out we run into Bella. She is heading over the Jake's. Wow, surprise, surprise. "Hey Maya, Hey Seth, Where are you going?"

I roll my eyes but reply anyway, "I am staying at Seth's tonight."

"Okay. If you need anything, don't forget to text me." I roll my eye's again, grab my house key's, and Seth grabs my bag. We get in the car and head to the ice cream place in La Push. I can't wait to spend time with my third family, Billy, Jake, and his sisters are my second family.
