Chapter 39

When we get up to the top of the cliff I get a call. "Hello?" I answer, not bothering to look at the Caller ID.

"Maya, I am sorry about earlier. I would like to talk to you about it later if you would let me. I understand if you would like to wait."

"Well, I have had a chance to calm down a little. I just want you to know that I could never to anything that would hurt you, I thought you knew that dad." I say. Tears start to brim my eyes and I turn away from the group who decided that it would be okay to stare at me.

"I do. I talked to Bella and she said that it could have been a mistake about planned parenthood. I called the back and they said that got the names and numbers mixed up. You are welcome to stay at Seth's for the weekend, but I would like you to come home so we can finish talking and get your school things settled out this week."

"Okay dad. I will probably be home sometime tomorrow." He say's good bye and hangs up. I catch the one tear that managed to fall out of my eye and take a deep breath. Seth grabs my hand again and turns me back towards the group. "Are we going to cliff dive or what?" I ask. They all turn away and start talking about random things. Luckily Emily had extra bathing suits that fit me. So I borrowed one of Seth commented on it the entire way here and even Paul threw some comments in. That ended up with a fight between them.

"Who's going first?" Sam asked. Before anyone could speak, someone threw me over their shoulder. I knew it wasn't Seth because he had moved next to Sam. I tried to tell who it was but they all look the same.

"No! Put me down!" I say. I was just joking around, I didn't care if I got thrown or not. When I finally figured out who it was they had thrown me off the cliff. I had grabbed their hand before I got to far away and he came down with me. I screamed with joy the entire way down and made sure to get a breath of air before hitting the water.

When I surfaced I saw Embry in the water with me. "You are an ass." I say. He knows that I was just kidding. I splashed him and swan away. He grabbed my leg and pulled me under water. I hit his leg as he swam by me and started to swim towards shore. When I got to the top of the cliff Seth was standing their waiting for me. "You're an ass too." I say to him.

"Why am I an ass?"

"Because you just stood there laughing!" I say. I was laughing as I said it so he knew that I wasn't really pissed at him. He wraps his arms around my waist so that his arms are resting on my hips and his hands are on my ass.

"You know, I wanted to be the one to throw you off the cliff." He whispers. I laugh a little and we walk up to the edge. "Okay, we are going to jump together." He say's. I smile at him and he picks me up so he can run faster. I try not to scream because of his wolf hearing. Once we hit the water he pulled me to him and kisses me The kiss doesn't last too long because we were running out of breath, or at least I was.

We swim to the top and I can't help but give him a huge smile. He gives me another , but this time it lasted much longer and was much sweeter. From above there was a bunch of whistles. Someone, probably Paul, called down "Go get 'em Seth!" We pull away and smile. All around us there are bunch of splashes and I know that the guys are jumping down. After they were done we swim back to shore and he wraps his arm around my shoulders to keep me warm.

"Hey, we should go back to my place and get you warmed up." Seth say's. In other words he wants to be alone, even though we wont be fully alone because Sue will be home.

"Um, I don't know. I like hanging out with Paul." I say joking around. He knows that I would rather be at his house than around the pack all the time.

"Oh, well if that's what you want we can always stay here."

"Hey guy's, we are going back to Seth's."

Paul being Paul say's, "Don't do anything that I wouldn't do."

"Shut up Paul." I call back to him and we walk back down the hill towards the road so we could go hangout at Seth's. Even though I like hanging around the guy's, being somewhat alone with Seth, by that I mean being with someone who can't hear every single thing that we are doing, is what I like the most.
