Bella's Younger Sister

Chapter 8

I woke up in the morning to my cell phone ringing. "Hello?" I ask.

"I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?" It's my mother.

"Yeah, it's fine though. My alarm was going to go off in about ten minutes anyway." I say while looking at my Even though it is summer, I still set an alarm and get up by a certain time. Right now it is about 6:20 in the morning.

"I was just calling to see how you were doing."

"I'm fine. I already broke some bones." I laugh.

"What! How?" She asks frantic.

I look at my hand that is in a cast and tell her what happened. "It's nothing to major. I thought it was kinda funny." I say.

"Well. I was also calling to see how Bella is doing." Of course. I don't really know how she is doing. I haven't really seen her.

"I don't know. I only saw her when we went out for dinner when I first came here. She doesn't really leave her room." I say sadly. Maybe I should try to make more of an effort to talk to her. Maybe I can cheer her up and get her mind off of what's his name. "I am going to see if she want's to go to Jake's with me later. Love ya mom."

"Love ya too sweetie. Phil say's hi and he misses you."

"I miss him to and I will talk to you guy's later." I hang up the phone and don't even bother to put anything over my outfit. I don't really care if dad see's me like this. We are family. I walk upstairs to Bella's room and see that she isn't in there. "That's weird." I go downstairs and see dad reading the paper at the kitchen table. "Hey dad. Have you seen Bella? She's not in her room."

"Yeah, she got up pretty early and told me that she was heading over to Jake's. Apparently he called her wanting to know if he wanted to hang out. Why, did you need her?"

"No, I was just going to see if she wanted to go to Jake's with me later. I guess she beat me to it." I grab a bowl and make some cereal. I sit down across from dad and eat my breakfast.

"What are you going to do today?"

"Well, I was going to see if Bella would take me to Jake's. I might head down to the beach and get some sun instead. I don't want to disturb her and Jake. Since she is starting to act like a normal person again."

"How do you plan on getting there?"

"I was going to ride my bike down there." He looks up at me, nods his head and gets up to leave. "Have a good day at work dad. See you later." He says his good bye and leaves. I do the dishes and go to get changed. I take my medicine, grab come snacks just in case, put my headphones in, and head off. On the way there I couldn't help but notice that the same Bear ran by me in the woods. I take a turn and head down a path through the woods. No bear will scare me out of the woods.

I stay on the path for about five minutes before I finally reach the beach. If I stayed on the main road it would have taken me fifteen minutes. The sun feels really good on my skin right now. I lay out my towel and change the song to 'Don't Take The Girl' by Tim Mcgraw. It is one of my favorite songs in the whole world. I close my eyes and soak up the sun. After about 20 minutes of lying on my back and listening to music, a ball hits my side. I sit up and grab the ball. I look over to where t came from and it was Sam and his gang. Great, just who I wanted to deal with today.I throw the ball back to them and lie down on my stomach so my back could get tanned. I lie with my face facing to the side and just watch the guys play soccer. They aren't to bad. Except they cant seem to stay focused on anything.

After another 20 minutes I decide to get in the water. I can't get my cast wet, but I can at least get my lower body wet. I go and stand in the water. I decide that I can get all of my body wet except for where the cast is. I go under water, making sure to keep my arm above the water and then just sit and enjoy the peacefulness of the water. I go and lie back down on my towel because I tan faster when my skin is wet. Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it.
