Bella's Younger Sister

Chapter 41

It's about ten o'clock now. Seth is still not back and I am sitting on the couch in the basement, 'watching' Frozen. I actually zoned out after dad left at 8. It worries me when he is gone for hours at a time and I don't know why. After Seth left dad said that he made the decision that I can go to school with the guys at La Push and that it's fine if I stay here during the week if I come home on the weekends. I agreed to those terms because that means I get to spend even more time with Seth! I end up falling asleep on the couch.

When I open my eyes I am in the woods. My first assumption is that I walked out here in my sleep. I stand up and look around. I notice it as my meadow. I smile and twirl around. It is pitch black and freezing. I rub my arms and look for the trail, not finding one. I trip over something and land on my hands and knees. I scraped my hand on something and it is bleeding, not gushing, but bleeding quite a bit.

I wrap my other hand around it and hold pressure to it. At the edge of the forest I see an outline of someone. The figure is moving closer to me, very fast. I'm dazed about what is happening. I start to move backwards because it finally hit me, it's a vampire. I stumble and land on my back, a piercing pain shooting through me. It takes all my strength not to scream out in pain.

The figure is now standing over top of me. It's Jasper Cullen. He has a pained look on his face, like always, but this time it's much different. I look at his eyes and see that they are pitch black, just like the starless sky. He's thirsty. Very thirsty. I try to move back but the pain in my hand and back make it almost impossible. He bends down and lifts up my hand. I try, with out success, to take it back. He brings it up to his mouth and bites it. This time I scream out in pain.

There's a warm sensation running through my body. It hurts like crazy. Everything seems to slow down. I can faintly hear growls and someone screaming my name. I turn my head to the side, everything is all blurry. I make out a bunch of figures running really fast towards Jasper and I. Jasper takes off running and then the one person that I would know from anywhere runs up to me, trying to get my attention. He picks me up and I feel those sparks run through my body, it does nothing for the pain though. My eyes close and I am taken into a very dark world.

My eyes shoot open and I sit right up on the couch. I look at the T.V. screen and see that the menu for Frozen is on. I look out the little box window and see sun shining through it. I stand up and stretch. Where's Seth? Is he not home yet? Or is he up in his room? I walk up the stairs and into the kitchen, Sue is at the counter drinking her coffee, probably getting ready for work. "Mornin Sue." I say.

"Mornin sweetie." I give her a hug and walk up the stairs to Seth's room, it's empty. I have a weird feeling in my chest. It's like a stabbing pain. It's not that sharp, but it's sharp enough to make me feel it. I quickly grab some clothes and maybe he's at Sam and Emily's. I dash down the stairs and head out the front door behind Sue. "Where are you off to so early in the mornin?"

"I'm goin over to Sam and Emily's. I think Seth might be there because he's not home yet." She nods her head and gets in the car. I hop on my bike and take the main road to Emily's, there is no way I am going through the woods right now, besides, the main road is much faster.

When I get to their house I notice that everybody's cars are here, well, everyone in the pack who own a car that is. I lean the bike up against the porch and walk up the steps to knock on the door. Just because everyone else is comfortable just walking in, does not mean I am.

Sam comes over and opens the door with a smile on his face. "Is Seth here?" I ask when I walk through the door.

"Yeah, he's in the Living room. We were hoping that you would come over soon." I give him a confused look and head towards the living room. What does that mean? All I know is that I miss my Seth!
