The Cerritos had another mission where it takes place when they have been hosting peace talks between its inhabitants, the Orbs and the Cubes, both photonic species made of pure energy and yet doesn't share commonly. While that was going on, Mariner was to watch over Ensign Olly has just transferred from the Reseda due to some sort of electrical fire and problems with her commanding officers. Basically being her mentor for the time being.
Turns out Ensign Olly grandfather was Zeus and yet her powers were strong despite a demigod. That's the only reason why every starfleet ship she was on was having electrical fire and problems with her commanding officers. She only wanted to have her own path. But in the end, she proved herself being better at engineering while the Orbs and Cubes finally coexist.
Right now, they're sent to another rift investigation.
