Kellin Quinn didn't want to be sitting at this meeting. Not because he was late, no, not this time, but because his phone lit up with a notification. Or well, make that three now. He had his arm propped up on the conference desk, his head on his hand, paying attention to what was being said, but then his eyes traveled down to his screen for a second, curious to know what it was.
Then it was inevitable. A broad smile crept onto his face, but he was quick to hide it with his palm, grateful for the dim lights in the room that could hide the warmth on his face as well.
It wasn't unusual now to see Vic Fuentes' name on his screen, and the reaction he sparked. Kellin supposed it wasn't as different as before, but it was. It definitely was. That swirl in his stomach was new. The tiny tugs at his heart were too. Being this distracted at a client meeting... yes. New.
Trenton was at the front of the conference room finishing up his bit and handing it over to Louisa which, ugh. Kellin didn't care about what she had to say to the clients. So he subtly took that chance to check on the messages.

The way his entire body felt warm and fuzzy and like a swarm of butterflies wanted to fly out of his throat... yeah, that was new too. So new. Kellin wanted to laugh out loud, he wanted to get out of this conference room and run to wherever he was right now and kiss him for being so damn adorable. A date? He wanted to go on a date?
Kellin didn't know where to begin unpacking how he hadn't been on a date in god knows how long, but at the same time... It couldn't be that different from what they've already been doing. Right? Still... he felt like teasing Vic a bit. Just because he didn't feel like paying attention to Louisa and keep their conversation short.

Kellin let out a chuckle but then cleared his throat, remembering where he was. No one noticed, thankfully.
He'd come to understand Vic's silly use of emojis with time. His texts were always happily decorated, even when they first started talking, and Kellin got used to it. So much that he started using them too, but only sometimes. And well, if Vic wanted to hypnotize him, he didn't exactly need an emoji, he succeeded at that a long time ago. And continued to do so. Especially these last few days.
