Kidnapped Sunshine

Finally opening again

Lil was woken up by something falling in the daycare. She groaned as she opened her eyes slowly. That's right, it's time to go back to work. She started to get ready for work by having a shower. As she was in the shower Sun came up into the room. He didn't see Lil in the bed anymore.
M: Lil seems to already be awake.
"Yeah, I must have accidentally woken her up with moving things around," Sun frowned a little. Lil came out with her work clothes on.
"Oh! Good morning Sunny!" She smiled wide. It made Sun smile slightly back.
"Good morning sunrise! How did you sleep?" Sun asked as Lil began to brush her hair.
"I slept really well. I'm excited to start working again," Lil smiled as she got done getting ready.
"Perfect! I've got everything done in the daycare for now so you can go eat," Sun picked up Lil making her yelp and grab onto him.

"Can you not!" She yelled playfully, hitting him on the chest. Sun just giggled and used the wire to go down into the daycare. Even once they were on the floor Sun still held her. "Sun. Put me down," Lil said, hitting him again. Sun just hummed the daycare theme as he started to walk to the employees break room. "Really, this is what we are doing now," She crossed her arms pouting.
"I'm faster than you though. We are on a time limit," Sun said, basically fast walking to the break room. They got there and he opened the door putting his rays in so he could fit.
"We have like an hour!" She yelled as he put her down into a chair. She got comfortable as he started to make her coffee.
"An hour just isn't enough time!" Sun said as he sprinted out of the room to go get Lil food. Lil rolled her eyes with a smile on her face. He was such a goofball. She waited for him patiently. Then the door opened and Lil was about to greet Sun but instead it was Vanessa.

She froze for a second. Vanessa didn't seem to notice Lil until she saw that the coffee maker was already making coffee. She looked over at Lil.
"What are you doing in here so early?" Vanessa asked as she crossed her arms.
"Oh! H-hi! I just felt bad for missing days and such. I kind of missed Sun and Moon too," Lil quickly answered, unable to look her in the eyes. Vanessa blinked at her before nodding.
"Yeah, you're pretty close with those two," Vanessa moved Lil's cup and started to make her own coffee. Lil nodded as she messed with her hair. They were both quiet until Vanessa's coffee was done and she handed Lil hers. Lil whispered a thank you as she took it. "Quit acting like you're in trouble. I know I'm a guard but I'm not on duty right now," Vanessa sat down in the other chair. Lil relaxed a little or tried to. Sun was still going to come back with her food soon. "How have you been? I heard you were sick for a while," she said as she sipped her coffee.

"Oh, I'm way better now. I'm excited to get back to work," Lil smiled thoughtfully. She then saw Sun at the window. He must have seen Vanessa because he started to slowly walk away.
"Sun, I saw you come in here," Vanessa said loudly. It made Lil freeze.
"How did you notice him?" Lil asked as Sun went slowly into the break room.
"I could hear his bells. Anyway, hello Sun, were you planning to go eat?" She looked at the plate of food he had. How had she not noticed his bells? Maybe she has just gotten used to them at this point. His rays went in and out of his faceplate. Sun looked slightly nervous.
"Y-yes I actually was, s-so I'll go do that," Sun started to leave.
"Alright, next time don't sneak around. It's creepy," Vanessa said. Sun had completely left, probably heading back to the daycare."Anyway, I'm heading home," She chugged the rest of her coffee, rinsed it out and put it back.

"Don't overwork yourself on your day back," she patted Lil on the shoulder and then started to leave.
"I won't, bye," Lil waved.
"See ya," Vanessa waved back as she closed the door. Lil sat there for a second drinking her coffee. She was making sure Vanessa had truly left. She finished her coffee and headed back towards the daycare. She didn't see Sun anywhere even when she did enter the daycare.
"Sun?" Lil asked as she looked around. Sun grabbed her from behind and hugged her. Lil yelped. "Sun! Don't scare me like that," Lil scolded him.
"I'm sorry sunshine, I was just so nervous about Vanessa," he nuzzled her head with some of his rays in his head. He put her down.
"I know, that was close. But it's all fine. Where's my food by the way?" Lil asked as she looked around.
"Oh! It's at the desk," Sun smiled as he led Lil there. She ate and then a few kids came into the daycare with their parents. A younger brother and an older sister. Don and Ash. "Oh hello sunshines! Welcome back! You can go play well Miss. Lil gets you back into the system," Sun smiled wide as he led them back into the daycare.

Lil had already started to put them in for the day.
"Why was the daycare closed and where were you before that?" The father asked with his arms crossed. Lil sighed softly before answering. She was going to have to tell so many people the same thing over and over.
"Yeah, we are sorry about that. There was some maintenance that needed to be done to the daycare area. And I was gone due to being ill. I'm all better now and ready to play with some kiddos," Lil said in an excited tone. The father nodded before leaving with his wife. Lil smiled slightly to herself. She was glad that worked. She looked over to Sun who was already playing with the two kids. His smile was bright and true. It made her smile. More kids started to come in with their parents. This was going to be a long but enjoyable day.
