“Dad” I shouted “Listen to me”
“No Lottie I don’t want to know about what dreams you have” he replied
“it’s not a dream why do you have to be so selfish, I am telling you that our house is going to be on fire by the end of the week and you don’t even think there’s the slightest chance I might be right”
“No Lottie I don’t now got to college”
“Dad its Sunday”
“Well then go to your room”
“But-”
“Now”
I slammed the door on my way out. Ran up the stairs and threw myself on my bed. Why was dad being like this? Maybe he just didn’t like the truth, he couldn’t face it.
I called max to see it he wanted to meet up.
“Hey Max”
“Oh hello Lottie”
“Do you want to meet this afternoon?”
“I'm sorry Lottie I have a date with Julia”
“Umm ok what about tomorrow?”
“I'm seeing Julia again”
“Ok max……bye”
I hang up because I wasn’t really sure what to say. Max rarely said no to meeting up. I suppose I had to learn to cheer myself up…..
“Lottie lunch” mum shouted up the stairs
It was quiet round lunch Dad was just staring at me.
“I want to say something” I said “but I need you to listen to me without butting in or walking off, can you do that?”
They all just looked at me.
“Ok I had a vision, there was a fire and it burned down the house in the middle of the night at the end jay ended up in hospital”
“LOTTIE how could you hate me that much, to make a story up that I'm going to die, to get back at me” jay said
“No I didn’t make up a story were you no listening I had a vision”
“Just ignore her jay” Dad told him
I left the table angrily and went for a walk. By the time I got home it was late so I went to bed. My dream was the vision which has never happened before.
The rest of the weekend went really slowly. I had tried calling max around 10 times and have left him loads of messages but he just ignored them all.
Monday
“Why haven’t you called me back or at least answered any of my messages” I said to Max
“I'm sorry I have been busy” he replied
“All it takes is a few seconds to press a few buttons”
Of course max was standing with Julia. I just walked off.
Max had agreed to meet me after college. This was good because I needed to talk to him.
The bell went for the last lesson and I sat on the stairs outside collage waiting for max.
“Hello Lottie I know your angry but…” he trailed off
“But what all you had to say is hi I have a bad weekend…” I stopped myself holding in the tears. “I am not coping on my own, I need you”
“Lottie am I not allowed to spend time with my girlfriend, I only left you for 3 days”
“yeah and in that 3 days I have been beaten up by Elisha, seen my brother’s death and my house burned down in a vision and know that is going got happen but no one will believe me. Also lost my best friend…my only friend.
“I didn’t know!”
“Yes you didn’t know because every time I called you to try and tell you, you just ignored me. I'm sorry but I just can’t do this.
“You are so selfish, it’s always about you, you you!”
“All I wanted is some support. urrh”
Just then Julia came and right in front of me, she gave a max a huge romantic kiss.
I completely crushed all my emotions came out at one time and just hurt. I loved him and now he hated me. I wanted to be the one kissing him. I got up and started running. I only got half way and fell to the ground, sobbing.
I really just fell out with my best friend. I felt so alone; I was lying in the middle of the forest in the rain at 8pm crying. And I had a vision a different one. This time it was a man running after someone, I didn’t know who this man was but he looked angry. Then I saw my dad and it just switched back a forward from the 2 people.
