Rosalin's Point of View
In school a presentation always ended with either applause, or simply returning to your seat with a comment from the teacher.
At work a presentation ended with a discussion of the topic, or just a thank you, before returning to my seat.
But how do you end a speech to a seemingly endless mass of ghosts?
I hadn't thought it through.
The important part was just getting through the speech, and then crossing fingers that they didn't just all leave in protest. Though, I suppose they can't really leave... so a negative end, would have been them just staring at me coldly... and continuing to do so as I would've pretended they weren't there...
Odelgarde though quite simply just decided to plainly look over the masses and ask for anyone else, which was followed by apparent hesitance. Upon getting no answer, she went directly to asking me to paint her armor with mana potion, even going as far as to describe how basically you want the liquid to dry out into tiny mana crystals on the inner surface of the metal... apparently...
So that's how I thought it would end. With me using my hands to splash and smoothe mana-potion over pieces of armor while being watched by a crowd.
Raising Odelgarde took quite little mana as well, but it's not like she has flesh that needs to have blood replaced by mana potion. According to Odelgarde, only the marrow has been replaced, which is also why she wants the extra mana on the armor.
At least, that's how it ended, until Theodore told me that one of his knights, which had died in the attack on the Avenfort knights fighting the torai, accepted being raised.
So I raised him...
Which leads to this again...
"Shh, she's waking up,"
I open my eyes, and stare up at Theodore, who is holding me in his arms again, and I see the treetops above him moving by. It looks like we're back in the forest, probably heading to camp.
"Are you alright?" he asks softly, looking at me with a smile, probably meant to calm me.
But who was Theodore shushing?
I quickly glance around, and my eyes land on one of Theodore's knights. Not a ghost, but the physical body. If it wasn't because I just resurrected Armel, then I would've thought someone has snuck after us, because unlike Theodore, Armel's body looks practically unhurt. Next to him is Odelgarde, back in her armor, now looking far more like an actual person in full armor, than a too small armor stand.
"Yes, I think I just used up too much mana. At least that's how I feel," I respond, and Theodore nods in agreement as he keeps walking.
"You got drained out all at once. If it wasn't for your rapid mana regeneration you probably would have been in trouble," he warns me softly.
"To begin with, that there's enough mana in her body, to make five liters of liquid mana is terrifying," I hear another voice speak, coming from Armel.
I look over Theodore's shoulder to Armel again, who appears to stare directly back at me while following along. His eyes even focus on me properly, and narrow a bit like he's feeling unsettled at my stare.
It's the complete opposite of what happened with Theodore.
I mean, I did go for using the resurrection that started the body out being full of mana, but seeing that it's already working, with little to no apparent learning curve really brings up questions what the original intent of the skill was.
