Odelgarde's Point of View

I did expect surprise when I told them that those giant centipedes were once humans, but the absolute shock and horror took me aback. Have I just been alive too long?

"Wait, you're saying Torai were once human? They're more beast like than even orcs."

This time it's Lord Troyfort asking, as he pulls his attention from Rosalin, who stops up as well, as the conversation centers on me. Orcs, huh...

"That's right," I answer, and then pause.

Lord Troyfort explains and translates for Rosalin, who looks at me. Her eerie light blue eyes staring at me like she locked onto an issue.

"Odelgarde, you were alive back before Children of Morset were killed?"

I nod, and her eyes narrow. Rather than anger though, it seems to be in thought, as her eyes begin to flicker to the side and her brows furrow.

"Odelgarde, are you also under orders not to talk about what happened, like Estella?"

I tilt my head, and then sigh. "Lord Troyfort, you'll translate."

"No. The spell that keeps the mages, the traitors, their pets and golems alive isn't placed on us. Since we're not always within range of the princess, she can't reinforce such orders. Though, there's an understanding that she'll get mad if we do. Since she has eternity to torment us, it's not something widely talked about," I explain. Though, honestly, it's not like anyone has had any use of what happened back then before. The new shepherds are all cursed by the princess, and no one else can hear us.

"Then, Odelgarde, what made the darkness turn from wanting to save the Mages of Seidrspir, to turning them against the children of Eostra? Seid only said that the word 'necromancer' didn't used to exist," Rosalin answers, as Lord Troyfort finishes translating.

It's not a difficult question to answer. However, without the proper context, the answer might be lackluster or misleading.

"If I have to answer, then it'll be a long story... because you'll need to understand more about the princess, and the place the world was back then."

I pause to let Lord Troyfort translate, and then add, "that said, it was about time she started learning to hear ghosts speak. It's pretty quick to learn too, I don't know why you haven't learned it yet while having Joshua around."

But this time Lord Troyfort doesn't translate. Instead he crosses his arms, like he is considering my words.

I glance to the side where Joshua is snickering.

"It's not for my lack of trying, but I've always either been interrupted, and a certain someone hasn't been willing to coorporate," Joshua says while grinning at Lord Troyfort like a playful fox.

I look to Lord Troyfort.

"Why? It's an important skill for her to learn."

Joshua's snickering gets louder.

Lord Troyfort just stares at him quietly, and then sighs heavily. "Because Joshua can't keep his mouth shut," he responds.
