Doing some digital decluttering and came across this snippet from last year I had completely forgotten about.
"Being a Hero is about self-sacrifice. Sacrificing yourself to save world. But when it comes to sacrificing someone else to save the world... one person for a million, you can't. Not even for the greater good." He looked at the Hero, who lowered his head, taking a breath before saying, "But I can. And that's why I'm the Villain, and you're the Hero."

"I'm sorry." The Villain breathed to the scared girl. "So sorry."
She nodded tears, in her eyes.
"But it has to be done," He whispered as he gently let go of her hand, letting her fall into the abyss below.
Shouts, then silence.
It was done.
He crumpled to the ground, breaking down into sobs.
No one said being a Villain was ever easy.
But someone had to be.
