CHAPTER 25:

-----Frank's POV----

I hadn't lied to Gerard, I did have work to do, just not actual work that had to do with my job. I started in the kitchen, tucking away all the knives and scissors and other dangerous utensils in a cabinet, which I then discreetly locked. I then went to the office and took all the letter openers and scissors and locked them away. I kept doing this throughout the apartment, which I now considered ours. I took all the potentially deadly items and stashed them away.

I knew of Gerard's past with self-harm and suicide. When we were in high school, I caught him cutting or burning himself at least four times, and I was the one that found him after his suicide attempt senior year. He was pale, almost the color of the snowy white tiles in the bathroom he was in. His blood pooled around both his wrists, both with almost ten deep slashes marring the skin. I shook him hard, as his blood soaked through my jeans and shirt. I cried so much, I thought I would die.

Of course, that was before I loved him. I couldn't imagine the pain of losing him now that I had put my heart and soul into loving him. I just wanted to keep him safe.

When I was finished securing the apartment, I sat down and read a book I'd been trying to finish for over a month. I hadn't been sitting long when my doorbell rang.

I got up and answered it quickly. When I opened the door, I saw two women. One was skinny and had black hair and dark brown eyes. They were so dark it seemed like her irises swallowed her pupils. The other woman was shorter and had a little more to her body, but she wasn't fat. She also had black hair and brown eyes, but hers weren't near as dark and deep as the taller woman's.

"Uh, hi? Can I help you?" I asked.

A small, spiteful, almost evil smile crept across the taller woman's thin lips. "Let us in, Frank," she hissed.

"Who are you?"

That was when they pushed their way past me, (which wasn't hard considering how small I was) and into the house. The shorter woman clamped her hand over my mouth and nose, cutting off my air and simultaneously preventing me making any noise.

"Is Gerard here?" The taller woman asked.

I nodded. They both smiled Cheshire Cat smiles. The shorter woman slipped a cloth over my nose and mouth, replacing where her hand had been. I tried not to breathe in whatever was on the fabric, but I failed and passed out within a minute.

When I came to, I was sitting in a hard chair in a very dark, humid room. My ass was already numb, so I suspected I had been here a while. The two women from the doorstep were standing on either side of the door, while a blond woman I had never seen before was pacing the room.

"Ah, good to see you awake. I'm Eliza. I believe you've met Lindsey," she gestured to the taller woman I had met earlier, "and Jamia," she said, motioning to the other woman.

"Why am I here?" I asked tentatively.

Expecting a verbal answer, I was shocked as all hell when I was answered by a sheer, quick slap to my face. It reminded me of the time Jake had slapped me on the balcony in front of Mikey and Gerard. That seemed like a lifetime ago.

"Don't speak, Frank. We won't need you for a long time. We just need you to get to Gerard... And then we'll kill you."

Let me tell you right now, all that shit about realizing you're gonna die and your whole life flashing before your eyes is bullshit. I was just scared shitless.
