CHAPTER 29:

-------Frank's POV------

I told Gerard everything that had happened while I was separated. He asked me how  escaped.

"One of the girls that had taken me was Jamia, remember the one from high school that I dated for a while? She told me who she was and why she was helping the other two women, and then she killed herself. Before she committed suicide, she slid the blade of a scalpel under the door to me to cut the ropes with. It was hard and took a few days because Lindsey and Queen Bitch were always hovering around me," I replied.

We went home and we had Mikey and Ray over and explained everything to them too. They had been worried sick for the past three weeks about both of us. I was just glad to be back home with Gerard.

~~~~TIME LAPSE~~~~~~
It had been a year and a half since my kidnapping. My life was better than ever. Gerard and I were still together. Mikey and Ray had gotten married, which surprised both Gee and I because it seemed so soon. But when we saw the look in their eyes when they talked about it, we knew it was the right decision.
We had all come out to the fans, and told them about our current relationships. The Internet was a-buzz with all of the "shippers" going crazy that they were right. It felt good to give them the satisfaction of knowing they were right all along about who we really were.
On our year-and-a-half anniversary, Gerard took me all the way back to Jersey and to the diner where we had had our first unofficial date when I was 15 and had just started liking him. He had talked to the manager (who was not homophobic, thank God) and had the place close early just for our special night. We both wore black tuxes, mine with a skinny tie, his with a small bow-tie.
The dinner we had was the same thing we had that day so many years ago, along with a few more fancier dishes. After we were done, we walked to the car, hand in hand.
"Frank, can you pop the trunk?"
I gave him a confused look. "Why?" I asked, "What do you need?"
He sighed. "Just do it, prick," he said playfully before placing a small kiss on my lips.
I did as he asked and he stepped in front of me, preventing me from opening the trunk.
"Do you remember that cliff we used to drive up on when we needed to get away from everything? And no one knew about it but us?"
I smiled at the memories we had made up there. I had lost my virginity up on that cliff. "Of course, Gerard. But why does that matter?"
He flipped the lid of the trunk open with a grand gesture. It was packed with two duffel bags, a tent, two large sleeping bags, and a cooler packed with food and snacks. Hot tears welled up in my eyes.
"I'm taking you there for our special day, which has been extended to our special weekend." He smiled proudly that he had kept this secret this whole time.
"Oh, Gerard... Let's go!"
He chuckled and hugged my small frame tightly. He sneakily slipped the car keys out of my back pocket and smiled mischievously. "But I'm driving."
We both laughed and ran to get in the car.
We spent the entire weekend up on that cliff, all by ourselves, camping. We laugh a lot, cried a few times over old memories, but mostly we just loved on each other.
The last day, though, Gerard made sure that day was a day I'd never forget.
We were looking out over the ocean waves that the cliff overlooked in silence, wallowing in the memories of this place. He suddenly pulled away from my side and got off the car. I followed suit, stretching my short legs when they hit the ground. We had already packed up our camp, so I figured he was ready to leave and go back to New York. I started for the car door, but he didn't make a move. He just stood there, hands in his pockets, looking over the edge.
I sneaked up behind him and hugged him around his waist. He didn't even flinch. Instead he pulled me around to his front and encased me in a warm hug. Then he stepped away from me, but held onto both of my hands dramatically. He stared into my eyes, and I stared back, probably looking very confused.
"Frank, you've made me the happiest man on Earth for the past year and a half. You've shown me what true love is, and you've shown me what it feels like to be loved unconditionally. I never want to let you go when we hug, and there's not a moment that goes by when I don't want to feel your lips pressed against mine. I love everything about you from the cute little scrunch you do with your nose when you're angry to the way you flutter your eyelashes on my neck when you kiss me there. Everything about you is beautiful and my life is better than it ever has been. I've never needed another person in my life like I need you Frank Iero." He stopped and took a slow breath. He let go of my hand and dug something out of his jacket pocket. And then, he got down on one knee.
My tear ducts exploded with the realization that this was more than him being his normally mushy self. Tears splashed down my face and fell into my mouth and onto my shirt collar as he opened the small velvet box and held it up to me. It contained a simple gold ring, beautiful and elegant.
"All those reasons and so many more that we'd be dead before I got to tell them all to you are all the reasons I want to make you my husband and to be by your side and walk through life with you at my side. Frank Anthony Iero, will you marry me?" At this point he was crying too, but his voice was even and strong. I knew that he had practiced this over and over a hundred times.
A simple "yes" didn't seem like it would be good enough compared to all that Gerard had already said, so I remembered a quote I'd heard once, and recited it to Gerard.
"'A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.' Mignon McLaughlin said that. Gerard I've fallen in love with you over and over again, and never once have I regretted anything that's ever happened to us. So, yes. Of course I'll marry you!!"
A smile immediately spread across Gerard's face as he took the ring out of the box. He held it up so I could see the inside of it. There was an inscription. Guess what it said?
It read: "Forever and Always. Love, Gee"
He grasped my shaking left hand, and slid the ring onto my finger. The metal was cool against my skin, but it warmed up quickly. Gerard jumped up and grabbed me around my waist. He swung me around while kissing me.
"I love you, Gerard," I said, and I did.
I was aiming for finishing this story with 30 chapters because it's nice and round and it helps my OCD if I do stuff like that, but it's just not gonna happen. There will be one more chapter for sure, possibly another extra chapter, and maybe an epilogue.
Also, I've started writing the sequel to this as requested by one person, but one person who likes my stories is enough for me. Thanks for reading and supporting this story. I really don't want this too end because it's been so much fun writing for all my Cuties, but I guess that's why I'm writing the sequel.{:
Thanks so much.
