"JAX, YOU have to eat." Shauna urged, looking as Jackie stared into the fire in the cabin absentmindedly. Delilah blinked, looking up from her bowl as she sat on the ledge beside a quietly eating Van.

"Why? What does it matter, at this point?" Jackie replied, huffing a breathy chuckle out. Delilah's face morphed into a frown and she furrowed her brows, turning her head and looking at Van, who raised her eyes to meet Delilah's.

Delilah, not wanting to worry the girl, smiled tight lipped, and moved to pour the rest of her worms into Van's metal bowl. The ginger girl blinked, not speaking still, and shook her head, shoving the bowl back to Delilah's hands. But the blonde only pushed it back gently, shaking her own head.

"Okay, I-I can't do this anymore." Mari suddenly examined, standing and walking off. No one questioned it, but they only stared once she came back with a large glass jar, dark liquid sloshing in it as she set it down.

"What is that?" Coach asked.

"It was some berries I was trying to save, but...I think it might've turned into booze? I don't know about the rest of
you, but I could use a drink."

Taissa perked up, pulling a face, "Do we think it's safe?"

"Do we care?" asked Coach, earning agreement in forms of silent nods or hums. Delilah shuffled on her seat and placed her bowl beside her thigh, watching Mari with interest.

"I have a few more." Mari shrugged, looking around.

In the moment of tranquility, Jackie took it upon herself to speak, looking to be deep in thought, "If we have booze, let's have a party."

Taissa scoffed, looking sarcastic, "Yeah. 'Cause we've
got so much to celebrate."

Jackie only smiled tight lipped, raising a brow and tilting her head tauntingly, "Do we need a reason? We're gonna be dead in a few weeks."

Delilah huffed, sharing a look with Van, who sent her a glance, blinking, before looking at her empty bowl and then back to the conversation.

"There's a full moon tomorrow night," said Misty, folding her hands over her thighs as she stood beside Coach Ben, Akilah perked up to agree, "And it's almost homecoming."

"We packed dresses, right?" asked Lottie, looking as blank faces as the rest of them. It seemed the plans did not elicit as much excitement as they should've just yet. "For the awards dinner?"

Jackie looked at her, along with the rest of them, and smiled, "There we go. We have dresses, we have booze. We can decorate. Have a sort of...moon homecoming."
