Chapter 18: Phase 1

"Morning sunshine" he tells me, still yawning from a good nights sleep. Or so I think.

"Morning llama head. Want to grab some breakfast ?" I ask. Mostly to talk about agent stuff. Mostly.

"Sure honey. Meet ya there 7:30."

"Dunkin donuts. The one near the entrance."

"Got it. Bye honey." And with that, he hangs up the phone. And I follow his footsteps.

We get to dunkin donuts when I see something suspicious: Jackie is with a boy! Then that must be Trevor! I mean, I would tell To,my about this but he's standing right next to me. And it's not like Jackie's about to see us or anything like that.

"Hey Kate!" She says in her familiar kind of high pitched voice. Crap.

"Hi Jack. How are you?"'I try to fake a smile and attempt a conversation with her.

"Great! I would like you and Tommy to meet my new boyfriend: Sam Hudson.

What? How is this possible? It should be Trevor! Can't make it look suspicious though. Just go with the flow Kate. Just go with the flow.

"That's so great Jack! Didn't know you were into dating that much."

"Well, it just came to be, ya know? Oh, sorry I forgot to ask you Tommy how are you?"

"I'm good. Thanks Jackie."

"Oh, you can call me Jack."

"Alright then, Jack" he begins to say "But I'm going to order our food, okay? I'll be right back in a few minutes. Bye" he says, then sends me a quick apologetic look to me while Jack and Sam weren't looking.

"So, Sam. What do you like to do?" I ask him, hoping to start up another conversation with them.

"Well Kate, I love reading, bowling and tennis, science, physics, and of course, my Jack right here." He replies with, then leans in and gives Jack a kiss on the cheek. But, wait. How does he know my name?

"How do you know my name?" I ask him, but Jack is the one to respond.

"Oh, don't be silly, I've told Sam here all about you! At least, what I know about you."

Oh God.

"Hi guys!" Tommy says.

"Right on time! I'm starving Tommy!" I say, then look into the bag and see a couple donuts and a sandwich. And coffee. He got coffee.

"Aw, thanks Tommy!" I tell him, then we both kiss each other. It doesn't feel as bad as before, kissing each other. Less stress, less worrying, nothing much to be scared about.

"So, I guess we'll be seeing you around then?" Sam asks us.

"Yeah, I guess so. Bye guys, nice meeting you Sam!" We say together. Tommy and I, that is. And then we walk out of the dunkin donuts place and head back to his dorm room, where we devour our meal like its the last one we'll ever have.

I just really hope it isn't.

"Excellent job, Sam. Black matter will be very pleased with you." I tell him as we walk out of dunkin donuts, and right as we walk into my dorm, I shoot him with a taser, the back of his head blue for less than a millisecond where the shot landed, and he fell down to the ground like a Greek marble statue that's just been pushed.

"But right now, I have to work on phase 1."
