Chapter 5: Wake up, Kate

"I hope she's alright." I say.

"How did you even find her?"

"All agents have tracking devices on one another."

"Oh."

"Oh, wait, here's Rex. See if he has any good news for us."

And Rex walks over with a stern, angry look on his face.

"I'm going to slam that person's ass who did this to her." he mutters.

"How is she?" Kate's mom asks.

"Suffering brain damage, needs a little surgery. I'm not sure if she will be able to still be an agent after this."

"Of course she will Rex! You know Kate."

"Tommy, I don't think you know her as well as I do. We'll have to send in a different partner for this next mission or cancel it completely."

"Bu-"

"That's enough Tommy!" Rex yelled at me. I've never seen him like this, so mad, so filled with hatred and anger before. But for me, I'm going to kick that person's ass when I find him,, and make sure Kate gets back to normal in no time.

Pain.

So. Much. Pain. My stomach feels like it had a bomb explode inside of it. But at least I'm not alone right now. I have Tommy on the bed next to me.

Wait, Tommy?

"Morning, princess."

"I hate you."

"Why would you hate me when I saved your life. I could use a 'Thank you Tommy, my night in shining armour who is very handsome and possibly a little sexy looking.'"

And then I punch him in the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?"

"That was your thank you. Your welcome. No refunds." I laugh a little at my own comment, which makes me wince in pain.

"Easy, princess. Don't want to give you a heart attack."

"Oh yeah, thanks. That makes me feel so mu-"

Tommy leans in, cuts me off, and gives me a hug.

What. The. Hell.

Did he just...

Hug me?

Men don't do that kind of thing! Wait, do they?

"Did you like that, princess?" he smirks as he says it.

"Next time you call me 'princess' I'll rip your vocal cords out of your throat." I growl back at him.

"Whatever the countess wants." and he laughs as he says it.

"I hate you."

"Love you too."

"Ugh, you're such a boy."

"Well, that's good right? Otherwise pretending that we are being a couple would become much harder than it already is." and then he falls off the bed laughing.

"What do you mean? I'm probably not going to be in the mission anymore. You know how Rex works."

Then Tommy smiles his devilish smile. I love it when he acts all badass and stuff. "Then I'll persuade him." And he continues to smile as we talk about his plan.
