Kairi Moves Out

Kairi arrived with her parents a few hours later, scowling furiously when she saw the boys sitting around the dining table drinking tea. "Did you have to invite them over?!" she whined to Zarc. Her soon-to-be-ex-husband scowled at her. "Of course I did. I need all the witnesses I can get to make sure you don't try anything!"

"Oh please, do you really think I'd do anything?" Kairi asked, sounding very offended. Zarc just raised his eyebrow. "You've already tried to get into the house and bully the boys into convincing me to let you in. I wouldn't put it past you to try to do something with no witnesses around."

Kair opened her mouth, but her father spoke up before she could say anything more. "We'll grab Kairi's belongings, Zarc."

"Don't let her take anything that isn't actually hers," Yuto said. Kairi glared at him and exclaimed, "What, you think I'm a thief now?!"

"Knowing you? Probably," Yuri replied. "I mean you did lie for one of your friends when they got caught shoplifting once."

"Wait, she did what?" Yugo asked, surprised. Yuri sipped his tea before responding, "A few years ago, one of her friends got caught shoplifting, but because Kairi had a receipt in her purse for the same product her friend was shoplifting from a few days before, Kairi showed the police her receipt and the police thought she'd actually bought the product. Then she and her friend demanded that the employee who caught her friend shoplifting be fired for 'lying' about her friend shoplifting, and the employee actually was fired. She told me all about it a few weeks before Zarc contacted us."

"I told you I felt bad about it!" Kairi snapped. Yuri shrugged. "Eh, well, you literally have a history of supporting stealing, so no I wouldn't put it past you to steal something that belongs to Zarc."

"We'll bring everything out to show you, to make sure we don't take any of your belongings," Kairi's mother promised Zarc.
