Etta Valentines POV
Out of all the chaos and incredulity that happened today, I would not have believed you if you told me that by the end of it, Miguel Raffetò would get down on one knee and propose.
Sitting on the bed looking down at my man, tears run down my face because I know the answer to his question.
This man was here for me when I didn't know I needed him to be.
This man respects my boundaries and rode the wave of the friend zone until I was ready to give him my all.
This man stuck by my bedside for three weeks straight whilst I laid in a coma, putting him out of his mind with worry until I opened my eyes and saw him.
This man knows what's best for me before I even figure it out myself.
This man makes me feel like the luckiest woman alive.
This man makes me feel comfortable in my own skin, and for once I'm not embarrassed to go after the things that I want.
Because this man showers me in love, and I think deep down he has done so since day one.
"Yes...in every lifetime Guel...yes I'll marry you!"
With tears of his own, he pushed us backwards on the bed, kissing me deeply as we half sobbed, half laughed and wholeheartedly professed our love for each other.
"The first thing I do when I get the all clear from the guys is put an actual ring on your finger." He lifted my left hand and gently kissed the symbolic finger.
"I don't care about that stuff Migs. I have you."
He rolled his eyes. "I'm putting a big ass rock on your pretty hand whether you like it or not." He nipped my ear. "Because you're officially mine, fiancé."
Swooning at the title, I pulled myself as close as I could get to him. "And you're mine."
~~~
Luckily for us, we only had to stay hidden till mid morning. Miguel had a call from his friends telling him everything was okay and that my freakshow of an ex was indeed working with a rival gang.
I still can't get my head around that, and when Miguel asked, I declined his offer to tell me what would come of Brady. Maybe it was naive, but I couldn't stomach to hear another word about that filth.
He'd caused enough harm to last a lifetime.
Enzo is healing well, though he had to have a blood transfusion so will be in recovery for a long time yet.
My apartment had been deep cleaned, though the blood splatter unfortunately has stained some of my beloved books.
And even though my head still feels like it's spinning from even learning about Miguel's past, I can't wipe the grin from my face because what the heck.
I'm Miguel's fiancé.
I just know my family is gonna have something to say about it since we've only been together almost three months, but what we have feels like three years instead.
