Miguel Raffetò POVWell this is torture.
Sat in the newly refurbished meeting hall at the end of a dramatically large table, my leg would not stop bouncing from the adrenaline of my thoughts.
Zero went to punch my arm for the third time this meeting, me just narrowly avoiding the hit as he glared at me.
"Thank you for your time Mr Strausman. We will be in contact in the next few days. Have a safe trip home." Romeo closed the double glazed glass door behind whom he hopes will be a new associate for business.
We were all dragged here for this meeting as a show of unity and professionalism. I personally think it's because Ro hates speaking to people and wanted backup.
I was correct in thinking that his and Pollie's coffees would be cold when I got back this morning, but from the way they're still all over each other now that the stranger is gone, it's safe to say they've forgotten all about it.
"You wanna enlighten the room as to what the fuck is wrong with you Guel?" Rome pulled his girl onto his lap whilst Enzo poured everyone a glass of whisky. Hell knows why he's here when he doesn't work for this specific company anymore.
I looked around at all my friends as they waited for an answer. It was no use in me pretending nothing was up when I was almost jumping up and down in my seat to share my news.
A shit eating grin spread across my face. "I've met the woman of my dreams."
Silence.
And then laughter.
"What's funny?" I grumbled, folding my arms and frowning at everyone but Pollie. She wasn't laughing, she was just smiling at me.
Zero was the first to speak. "Guel, you do realise that Jessica Rabbit is a fictional character right?"
I threw him the bird as my girl Poll spoke up. "Who is this mystery girl Migs? Where did you meet her?"
I gave her a thankful nod for believing me. "It was at the theatre the other day. She fell on me and then I saw her again at some coffee shop this morning."
Pollie blinked, digesting this information whilst Romeo massaged her waist. "Is that why you were so distracted when we got back from the interval? I thought you were acting weirder than usual."
I stuck my tongue out at her. "Yeah, I was looking for her but she never came back. I was beginning to think I'd never see her again until this morning."
Pollie cooed at me, her lip pouting as she wriggled in excitement.
"Stella, can you stop moving please pup?"
This time it was my turn to laugh. "Wow, you really did miss her didn't you?"
Romeo started bickering with me before Pollie leant back and shushed him. One look from her and he was silent.
That girl has a hold on all of us.
"Has this mystery woman got a name Migs?"
