Etta Valentine's POV
"Where do you plan on living for the rest of your life Miggy?"
Miguel halted, causing me to cling to him tighter whilst he gave e a piggyback.
We were walking through the designated forest trail on the cabin's property land, and I guess my surroundings just got me thinking.
"That's a heavy question for ten in the morning Ettie."
I laughed onto his head of hair, relishing in the way his strong body held me steady.
"Sorry, it was a bit forward wasn't it?"
He leant into my touch as I kissed the side of his head. "You're fine E. Just caught me by surprise, that's all."
He set me down as we walked hand in hand, crunching on leaves as the birds sang from all angles.
"You don't have answer by the way, I was just curious."
He raised our joined hands and kissed them. "If you would've asked me that question a year ago, I would've said the city. Cause that's all I've known since birth."
He hesitated for a long moment, a small reserved smile forming on his lips.
"And if by asking that question now..." I pried carefully, not wanting to push him. "What would the answer be?"
Miguel lead us over to a turned over log, not replying until he tugged me to sit sideways onto his lap.
"I know it's only been a week, but I think I'd like to live somewhere close to nature." My heart sped up. "I know I'm rich as fuck but other than one time when i came upstate with my friends, I've never flown anywhere with a shit ton of trees."
I chuckled at his wording and ran my fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck. "Would you ever move out of state?"
He grinned, inclining his head to me. "Would you?"
I bit down on my lip as I thought hard. "I always thought I wanted to live here. Upstate New York, I mean."
He squeezed my waist in silent demand to continue.
"But I think I'd wanna travel and see more of America before I make that decision. I'd want a house in a forest but with neighbours nearby cause it's creepy otherwise."
I had to look away from the dimple now making its appearance on his face, because if I focused too hard I'd be needing to squeeze my thighs shut.
"It'd need to have a big ass garden for all our dogs." Miguel added, noticing what he said the same time I did.
Our.
I blushed and he blushed and it was the most beautiful thing ever.
"Yeah." I grinned, watching his eyes sparkle at the agreement I showed him. "But it would have to be somewhat close to a city or big town, because if have to find a part time job."
