Etta Valentine's POV

"I can't believe he hasn't cooked for you yet! Honestly girly, that man can't make a lot, but shit does he become a godly gift when it comes to enchiladas."

We'd been talking with Miguel's friends for almost three hours, snacking on tapas and sipping our drinks as the evening rolled on nicely.

Half an hour ago, me and Pollie had gone to the bathroom where she then proceeded to hug me two more times, compliment me on my outfit and how pretty I am apparently am before telling me I'm the best thing to ever happen to Miguel.

Once I went in the cubicle, a few tears escaped me. Not sad. Never sad when it came to him.

And though I'd stuck with the soft drinks and only went from orange juice to pineapple juice, I felt so at ease with the bunch of them that I allowed myself to do something out of my usual comfort zone.

Well, I say that I allowed myself, but really I didn't notice I'd done it before I did it.

My head was rested on Miguel's shoulder as the table continued to chatter. The way they interacted with me made me feel like I'd known them for years.

Miguel's hand crawled to my lap to where he rested his massive palm on my leg. His head rested against mine upon his shoulder and I swear I could I've shut my eyes and stayed like that forever if it wasn't for the fact that I was out in public.

"You two are just the cutest."

I didn't realise we were sitting in silence until Pollie spoke with a pout on her face. Zero and Romeo sat there smirking.

I blushed a deep red, trying to fight a smile but it won the battle anyway.

"So you still sure you're not dating?" My breath caught as Romeo came straight out and said what he was thinking.

Pollie exhaled a dramatic gasp, turning to her boyfriend and lightly smacking his arm. "Rome. You can't ask things so bluntly."

Shrugging, he simply distracted her by practically sticking his tongue down her throat.

I have a feeling they'd get on with Meg and Carter.

"Well. Are you?" Zero mused with a coy smirk making me realise that neither of us had denied it yet.

"Oh." I sat up, constantly dropping eye contact as I regained everyone's full attention. "We're not together. We're just friends."

Miguel chose that moment to squeeze my leg and reverse our positions by resting his head on my shoulder.

His hair tickled my neck and I shivered.

"Just friends?" Romeo made a notion of looking between the pair of us before grinning. "Okay."

Pollie rolled her eyes, sharing a look of girl code before cuddling into Romeo's side. They were so sweet together. A blind man could see that they were smitten with each other.

"So, are you in a relationship Zero?"

Almost choking on his drink, he swiftly placed his glass down as his eyes shifted somewhat anxiously. Hmm.
