Janessa should have known better.

She really should have.

But the temptation was too strong. She had seen the "She's busy, lil bro" prank all over TikTok, and she just knew Von would give a reaction that no one else's man could top.

Which was exactly why she was about to risk her life for some laughs.

She sat cross-legged on her bed, phone in hand, scrolling through her messages with Von. He had been handling business all day, but that never stopped him from checking in.

His last text sat on her screen:

Von: "What you on, baby? You good?"

She smirked, thumbs flying across the keyboard.

Janessa: "She's busy, lil bro."

She hit send and waited.

It didn't even take a full minute before her phone started buzzing.

Von: "Who tf is this??"

Janessa's best friend, Maya, was sitting at the foot of the bed, watching everything unfold. "Oh, he's already mad," Maya cackled.

Janessa grinned. "He's about to be even madder."

Maya's laughter cut short. "Wait—what you mean?"

Janessa got up, already scheming. "Put on one of Von's hoodies."

Maya's eyes widened. "Oh, nah. NOPE. I see where this is going, and I want zero parts."

"Girl, just do it real quick," Janessa urged, already digging through Von's clothes in her closet. She pulled out one of his oversized black hoodies and tossed it at Maya.

Maya groaned but slipped it on, pulling the hood over her head. The fabric swallowed her whole, making her look like a dude at first glance.

"Lay down on me," Janessa instructed, positioning herself against the pillows. "Just don't show your face."

Maya hesitated. "I swear to God, if he busts up in here, I'm snitching."

"Girl, he ain't gonna do all that," Janessa said, laughing.

She snapped a blurry photo—Maya's hood was up, her back turned to the camera, and she was clearly laying across Janessa's stomach like she belonged there.

It looked real suspicious.

Perfect.

She attached the photo and sent it straight to Von.

Janessa: "She's busy, lil bro."

Maya covered her mouth, horrified. "Oh, bitch, you are gonna DIE."

Five seconds later.

Von: "WHO??"

Von: "Nessa, STOP PLAYING. WHO THE FCK IS THAT??"*

Von: "You got 5 seconds to answer before I start tweaking."

Janessa was crying laughing, rocking back and forth on the bed. "Oh my God, this is too funny."

Maya, on the other hand, was ready to leave. "Girl, CALL HIM BEFORE HE CALLS HIS HOMIES."

Janessa's phone rang. FaceTime.

She let it ring.

It rang again.

She ignored it.

Then came the texts.

Von: "I'm on my way."
Von: "OPEN THE FUCKIN DOOR."
Von: "Nessa. Don't make me come in there."

Janessa blinked.

Maya grabbed her arm. "Why he say it like that?"

Before Janessa could even answer—

BOOM.

The front door FLUNG open.

Janessa's soul left her body.

Maya screamed. "OH HELL NO—"

Heavy ass footsteps stomped through the apartment, fast as hell. Von wasn't just walking—he was storming.

Janessa barely had time to jump off the bed before her bedroom door BURST open.

Von stood there, breathing heavy, his jaw clenched, eyes wild as hell as he scanned the room. His hand was still on the doorframe, like he had damn near ripped it off the hinges.

His gaze locked on the figure still laying in the bed.

"...Who the fuck is that?"

Maya bolted upright, flailing. "IT'S ME! IT'S ME, VON!" She yanked the hoodie off and held up her hands like she was about to be arrested.

Von stared.

Janessa was too scared to laugh now.

Von ran a hand down his face. "Nessa."

She gulped. "Yes?"

"Pack yo shit."

Janessa's eyes widened. "Huh?!"

Von pointed at her suitcase in the corner. "Pack yo shit. You moving in with me. You clearly can't be trusted by yo' damn self."

Maya lost it, laughing so hard she almost fell off the bed.

Janessa pouted. "Baby, it was a prank!"

Von cut her a look. "Do it look like I'm laughing?"

Janessa bit her lip. "A little?"

Von licked his lips, his diamond grills flashing as he nodded slowly. "Aight."

He took a step forward.

Janessa yanked the covers over her head.

Maya threw her hands up. "Ayo, I'm gonna let y'all handle that. I'm out."

One thing was for sure—Janessa was never pulling this prank again.
