Brothers Return

Chapter 2

It was late and the turtle lair was quiet, the only noise was the constant sound of Raph snoring, Mikey mumbling, and Donnie tossing and turning. Leo...he wasn't making any noise because he wasn't in the lair.

He snuck out when his brothers fell asleep...he just needed some air, as he ran across the roof tops he was unaware of the group of men watching him, observing his every move and skill. He came to a stop on top of the same building Raph fought with him when he returned. (From the 2007 cgi movie it's a good movie weird plot tho)

He sat down on the edge of the roof and stared down at the streets, cars were stopped at red lights, and the people could walk without a care in the world they didn't have to worry about anyone running and screaming monster...Leo and his brothers did though.

It was getting late so he started heading home, on his way he stopped by April and Casey's apartment because he never told them that they went back to Central America only Angel knew. The blue banded turtle tapped on the window and waited it was 2 in the morning, but alas April walked into the room and went to the window.

When she opened it she didn't seem to happy I mean who would being woken up at 2 am, before either could say anything she noticed the new scars littering Leo's body. She pulled him in the window causing him to almost face plant and she whisper yelled "Leo what happened!?"

He managed to regain balance and said "It's a long story..." She crossed her arms indicating she wanted to know more and now, Leo sighed and said "do you remember when I was in Central America?" She nodded and said "How could I forget you were gone for 2 years Leo."

He lowered his head and said "While I was there I was captured by some scientists," *places hand on her mouth* "I was hurt yes experimented on drugged and other things I don't remember, I managed to free the people that were there and destroy all the information the had collected."

April tried to grab his hand...he removed it and she said "Ok I listen now ask later." He nodded and continued "I tried to make it back to my home but I was losing to much blood to fast...this boy and his three younger brothers were walking the path I collapsed on, those kids were Tomas, Alan, Dante, and Miguel."

He paused to see if she was caught up which she was and continued "They ran home and told their father they found The Ghost of the Jungle injured on a path...a few minutes pasted before they made it back. They took me to their home and began to work trying to save me once they had I had to recover then
come home."

She placed a hand on his shoulder and asked "Is that why you were gone for so long?" He nodded and said "Not to long ago Tomas come looking for me because the scientists had taken Miguel trying to bait me back...Me and the guys went to Central America and I saved them by sacrificing myself."

She looked into his eyes she could see tears welling up daring to fall..."I killed all the scientists so they can't hurt anyone else ever again." April's brow furrowed and she asked "Leo I thought you don't kill?" The blue banded turtle let some tears roll down his face and said "It was either me and many more or them and no one plus I didn't technically kill them I just didn't save them from the explosion I created."

She wiped his tears with her thumb and said "It's late you need your rest as do I, me and Casey will stop by the lair tomorrow ok?" Leo nodded and left out the window he was pulled through, when he was on the fire escape about to jump to the roof he said "Goodnight April." She nodded and he jumped away disappearing into the darkness of the city night.

Leonardo ran across the roof tops still unaware of the group of  men watching him...once he came to the alley way he felt a presence...wait no scratch that a group. Leo ran until he didn't sense them anymore he went to the docks and found a old drainage pipe leading from the sewers.

On his way he felt a burning pain in his shoulder he looked down and saw a dart he ran and ran making it to the pipe...he continued to run until he made it to the door of his lair but before he could open it he collapsed.

He couldn't hear or see anyone following him so he guessed he lost his followers (he did don't worry) his limbs were heavy but he managed to trip the security system...now all he can do is wait for Donnie and his brothers to find him.

Time skip

Hours past before Donnie woke up he walked into his lab and saw his laptop flashing...rushing over to it he saw it was a security breach near the lair door, he woke up Raph, Mikey and Leo wait where was Leo?

He didn't have time to ponder on that question long they got their weapons and walked to the door. When the door was open they jumped out ready to fight only to see Leo leaning against the wall with a dart still in his arm unconscious.

One thought found its way through the turtles heads 'What happened?' Mikey and Raph picked Leo up and carried him through the lair door following Donnie to his lab, the purple banded brainiac told his brothers to lay Leo on the cot so he can analyze him.

Once he had his brother hooked up to the machines he needed he pushed Mikey and Raph out and said "I need space plus I don't know what's wrong with him." They nodded knowing they might not want to watch what Donnie has to do or know what he did. So all they could do know is wait for Donnie to be done.
