AUTHOR'S POV

Beca has managed to spent the next few days without bumping into Chloe. Mainly thanks to Aubrey who updated her with any plans that Chloe told her. Beca has been spending her time either at work, bar or at home with her family. "How are you feeling today, Becs?", her mom asked when she saw Beca playing with her food. "I've been uh- okay, just- keeping myself busy", Beca forced a smile. "How's the song thing going on?", her dad asked. "Uh- It's going great, honestly. It's currently on track to release soon. I'm planning to do a little bit of private pre-release event at the store but there's still some things I need to plan out", the brunette explained. "Also, I won't be home for dinner today, so don't wait up", Beca smiled. "Where are you going?", her mom asked. "Uh- Cindy actually uh- asked me to go get dinner at her place", she said. "Are you sure that's a good idea? I thought y'know the whole point of staying with us is to forget about- y'know who", John said. "Yeah, I know. But Cindy insisted that I go, and she's truly been helping me and the girls out a lot. I figured it'd be okay. Plus, I'll only be there for a while then I was planning on going over to hang out with Stace and Emily", she explained. "Okay then, you just- just take care okay?", her mom said to which she just nodded. 

Beca's POV

I knocked on the door to be greeted with Chloe's cousin, Waverly who immediately took me in for a tight hug. God damn Beales and their hug genes. "Hope you're feeling okay", she whispered before pulling away and I just gave her a smile before saying Hi to her girlfriend, Nicole. "Officer", I joked before giving her a salute, making her laugh. I took a quick glance around the room to see Chloe and Alice on her phone in the living room and as soon as Chloe made eye contact with me, I looked away and was caught with Waveryly sympathetic look to which I just shrugged to. "Who's that, Waves?", Donna, Chloe's aunt, asked her from the kitchen. "It's Beca, Mom!", Waverly yelled back and immediately Cindy came out from the kitchen and pulled me for a hug. I should've pre-gamed before I came here, all this god damn hugs. "Hey, sweetheart", she said before looking at the bag I got in my hand. "What do you have there?", she asked. "Oh! Yeah- sorry I forgot- uh- I got wine!", I said awkwardly before pulling out the bottle. "Oh, Becs. You shouldn't have!", Cindy said before taking the wine and making her way to the kitchen. "Get comfortable, we're still cooking", she said and I just nodded. "It's good to see you again, Beca", Charlie, Chloe's sister, came up to me and gave me yet- another hug. "You too. Where's the other half?", I asked. "He got caught up at work", she replied. "I see. And the kids?", I asked. I figured if I distracted myself with them, I'd be fine. "Oh they're upstairs with Chris. Kids! Come down!", she immediately turned to the stairs and yelled. I looked to the stairs to see Elena and Corbyn run down with Chris right behind them. "Beca! You're here!", Elena ran up to me and gave me a hug. "Hey, kid. I got something for you because a little birdie told me it was your birthday a while back", I smiled and pulled out a rolled up poster from my bag. 

Chloe's POV

As soon as I heard the knock on the door, I knew who it was and I dreaded this moment. To see Beca with my family, how much they love her and how even until now- she still treats them with the utmost respect and love from her heart. I looked over to Alice who was on her phone, checking up on her Instagram. Beca would've never done that. She would talk to everyone. I watched as she pull out a poster from her bag and passed it to Elena. "A Supergirl Poster! Cool!", she said with joy. "Not just any Supergirl Poster. It's the limited convention one. Had to take that out of my paycheck so be grateful", Beca joked to her. "Thank you, Becs!", Elena smiled at her. "You didn't have to, Becs", Charlie told her and she just smiled. "We're here for MY birthday, but whatever", Wynonna joked from the dining table. "Hi, Wynonna", she replied back. "What else do you have in there, Santa?", Chris joked since he saw that the bag still looked heavy. "Well- I figured that they would still be cooking so.. I brought over my PS5", she smiled. "No way!", Corbyn said. "Go nuts", Beca said before handing the bag to Corbyn who immediately ran to the TV to set it up. "How did you even manage to get this? It was sold out everywhere", Chris asked. "I was on the pre-order list- duh", Beca said and walked over to the kitchen. "Anything I can help with?", she immediately asked.
