Looking At Things Differently (Chapter.10)

*Wes & Beth*

Look at that face. She looks so innocent. She knows nothing bad. 

Carter Victoria Beverly you are so beautiful.

"Babe now that Carter is born and we are just in the hospital explain." Beth stated.

"Explain what Babe?" I asked pretending I didn't know what she was talking about.

"Explain this no werewolf or losing our children shit."

"I made it up so you wouldn't worry or think I was going crazy worrying so much about Dash." I said while looking down at Carter.

"You know if I didn't just have Carter I'd be pretty pissed. But I'm not we get to keep our children that's all that matters. We can stay happy. I'm happy." Beth said.

"Good I am too Babe." I replied.

"Hey." April said while walking in the hospital room.

"April hey how are you holding up?" I asked while walking up and hugging her.

"I'm okay. I just came to visit my new niece. Congratulations guys she's absolutely beautiful." April said smiling.

"Thank you."

"Thank you do you want to hold her April?" Beth asked.

"Sure I'd love too." April replied then taking Carter from Beth.

While looking at April holding Carter I started thinking. It's amazing how fast everything can change. One minute you are alone then you meet the love of your life which changes everything. Before you know it you are marrying your doll face. Which changes everything yet again. Then you are having children which changes even more. We all take everything for granted I've noticed. I know I do. Looking at April who was happily married with a little boy and another one on the way. Everything has changed for her. She was expecting to have her second boy and continue to be happy with Leo and Lance. Then Lane would just add to that happiness. But out of the blue she lost Lane which drastically changed everything in a negative manor. Now she's separated from Leo and is about to be in a custody battle with him over Lance. Not everyday is promised and not everything will always be great. We all need to value every day and every wonderful moment. We never know when everything will change for the worst. So I'm thankful for my amazing wife. Beth is so wonderful I can't even put it in to words. My love for her is indescribable. My connection with her is as well. She changed my whole life. For the better and I love that. Our children are beautiful and healthy which I'm also thankful for. I just hope April will end up okay. I know everything is hard for her right now. I'm worried but I finally realized I can't protect her forever. She's my sister and I will always love and care about her. But I have my own family now that I have to protect, love, and care for. She has her own family to worry about. It's hard to let go but I'm working on it.

*April & Leo*

"Why do we need to take this to court April?" Leo asked.

"You won't let me have Lance any other way you ass hole."

"What happened to us? We used to be so happy and now we are getting divorced."

"Oh I don't know Leo maybe everything went down hill when you blamed me for the death of our son."  

"I know and I'm sorry for that I was just pissed, upset, and in shock about Lane. I know you couldn't help getting stabbed." Leo replied.

"Well thank you for your apology and for finally admitting his death wasn't my fault. But we are broken Leo. I don't know if we are fixable." I said.

"I understand that but can we at least try for Lance's sake?" Leo asked.

"We should not stay together just for Lance. We should only stay together if we still love each other and want to be together. Besides are you just saying you want to work things out because I'm taking you to court? Are you afraid you'll lose?" I asked rudely.

"I mean I don't want you to win. I'm not sure if I want to actually be together no."

"Okay then. Well until you are sure what you want to do things will stay the same. You will stay at your parents. The house is mine and I will stay there. See Lance should come stay with me."

"Well he won't. Lance is staying at my parents with me and that's final." Leo replied then left before I could respond.

To be honest I don't even know what I want anymore. I don't know if I want to make things work with Leo. I mean yes I still love him. But him blaming me for losing Lane I don't know if I can forgive him for that. I have to think about that. But I'm taking him to court. I want full custody and he can have visitation. Lance is my son too.

*2 Weeks Later*

*Wes & Beth*

"Okay I'm leaving I love you Bentley be good for Daddy. Bye Carter you be good too I love you. Bye Babe love you." Beth stated giving hugs and kisses all around.

"Beth wait can we talk before you go?" I asked.

"No sorry Babe I've got to go like now." Beth said then hugging and kissing me again. Then she left.

I then called Leo to come over.

"So what's up man?" Leo asked sitting down.

"I think something is going on with Beth." I stated.

"What do you mean something going on?" Leo asked.

"Basically everyday since we brought Carter home Beth keeps getting called in to work randomly. But she's supposed to be on maternity leave. I'm honestly questioning if she's really going to work or if she's doing something else."

"Are you implying that you think Beth could be cheating on you?" Leo asked.

"Yes maybe. What do you think I should do?"

"If this is really bothering you then I'll watch the kids and you go to her work and see if she's there. If not then she has some explaining to do."

"Good idea can you watch them now?"

"Yeah."

"Great thanks." I replied then grabbed my keys and out the door I went.
