Life After The News (Chapter.15)

*Wes & Beth*

"I can't believe this at all."

"I can't either. What are we going to do? I mean April is your sister so we will obviously keep seeing her. But Leo is your best friend. How will that work?" Beth asked.

"To be honest I don't even know. I mean I knew they were having problems but I had no idea that they would actually end their marriage. They went through so much together. I guess everything that happened they just couldn't pull through together. It all split them apart. It's so sad. Now Lance will never have them in the same place. He will be pulled back and forth from house to house." I replied.

"They haven't even filed for divorce though yet right? They just decided they wanted one. So maybe they will change their minds soon. Then this whole mess won't really start." Beth said with hope in her voice.

"I wish I could agree. But Leo called me this morning and said he put in a offer for some house that's about fifteen minutes away a few days ago. He heard back from them today. They accepted his offer, the house is all his. It's real. After that April called me this morning and said she received the divorce papers and that they were already signed by Leo. She didn't admit it. But I could hear in her voice that seeing Leo's signature on that paper killed her. It really broke her heart.  But being the stubborn bitch April is she will sign them as well and fix nothing. That's just who she is.  No matter how she feels. But I still question if she really wants to get divorced or not. She never really said." I said.

"Wow. I can't believe it. They've just always seemed so perfect. I mean they got together before we did. If they were never together then you two would've never met. Then you wouldn't be best friends. Life just wouldn't be as great. But it's about to get really complicated now." Beth said.

"I know. I think Leo just gave up on April and April let him. I truly think that's what it boils down to."

"Well Leo just texted me and told me to tell you he's on his way over here. So I'm going to go to April's and see what's going to happen now that everything has changed. You should do the same when Leo get's here. Bye Babe love you." Beth said then kissed me and grabbed her keys.

"Alright. Sounds good babe. I'll see you in a little while. I love you too be careful." I replied then kissing her goodbye.

*Wes & Leo*

"So you bought a house huh?"

"I sure did. It's awesome. It has a big ass man cave. You'll have to come over when it's done. I hired movers. They are putting everything in the house today. Even unpacking it and putting it in their places. I gave them a blue print so I wouldn't have to worry about doing all of that. It's pretty nice I must say." Leo said.

"You seem perfectly fine. How?"

"What do you mean Wes?"

"Oh I don't know you are getting divorced from the love of your life. You know the mother of your child. My little sister?" I said sarcastically and rudely.

"I'm the one that filled for it. Do I love her? Yes of course. But the more we tried to fix our problems the more we started to hate each other. Then the messier it got. So it's just easier to move on. I feel we will both be a lot happier this way. I got papers today ending our custody battle as well. So now I only will deal with her when it comes to Lance. I already said I only wanted my belongings out of the house. Then the money that I made that was in the accounts. Other then that I want nothing. So we just wait for it to go the rest of the way through."

"Wow. Just wow Leo. What did the custody papers say?"

"Bullshit. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to talk about it right now it just pisses me off." Leo snapped.

"Well fine then.

*April & Beth*

"What are your real feelings about getting divorced April?"

"Honestly. I love Leo with all of my heart. That will never change. I would have tried to work it out. But when I explained how much i loved him he responded with let's get divorced. After that any want of working it out left my body. It's pretty obvious he wants nothing to do with me. I mean everything is settled already. The divorce he made as easy as possible. Then we both got the custody papers today on the final verdict. He said he wasn't going to fight it even though he didn't agree with it. Only because he wanted to move on. " I said.

"Well what was the custody verdict?"

" Lance lives with me. Leo gets him on weekends. Then all summer breaks. I'm thrilled. That's what I wanted!"

"Wow April that's great!" Beth said with excitement.

"Yeah. It's like I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the long horrible tunnel."

"I bet."
