What Do I Want? (Chapter.14)

*2 Months Later* *Wes & Beth*

"Babe are you ready yet?" I asked.

"Yes Babe just grabbing the baby." Beth responded walking out of Carter's room with her in the car seat. Then the diaper bag on her other shoulder. 

I had Bentley in my arms. Then I had the keys and a bag full of snacks and drinks for the road.  It's 4 am and we have a 4 hour drive ahead of us. We decided to take the kids to the zoo and to a baby friendly amusement and water park. We will be meeting up with April and Leo.

We finally got everything settled in the car and got on our way.

"I was surprised when you said you wanted to do this today. I mean it's your you day." 

"Well Babe I don't feel like I need it this week. I had a great week at work. You've helped out with kids so much in the evenings. I figured a nice family day would be fun and needed. Everyone has had a rough few months. Lance and Bentley will enjoy seeing each other. I'll enjoy seeing April. I haven't seen her in a few months. Then I know you'll enjoy seeing Leo again it's been a few months for ya'll too. I wonder if they made any decisions or not. We get to have all of that. But then see some animals, go on some rides, swim, and see our children have fun. So it sounds like a great day to me Babe." Beth said smiling.

"I think it will be great too Babe." I said smiling back.

*Meet Up For Breakfast At IHop*

"Hey!"

"Hello!"

"Hi!"

"Hey!"

We all sat down, then finally got our food.

"Well I think today should be really fun!" Beth said.

"I totally agree!" April replied.

Leo and I just looked at each other. That was basically all that was said at breakfast.Then back in the car and back on the road we all went.

*Arrival At Zoo*

"Mama what are those?" Lance asked.

"Those are Penguins Lance." April responded.

"Aww they are so cute!" Lance replied.

"Aren't they though?" Leo said smiling.

"Yep." April said with a fake nice tone.

"Definitely!" Lance said.

"Alright I think we will take the boys and ya'll can take Carter. We will meet back up at 12:00 pm for lunch. Then we will go to the amusement park." Beth stated.

"Sounds good Babe." I replied taking Carter's stroller from Beth.

*April & Beth*

"So tell me." Beth stated.

"Tell you what?" April asked.

"What the hell is going on with you and Leo?"

"What do you mean?"

"The last I heard you were fighting him just to let you see Lance. You were in a custody battle and didn't know if you wanted to be together. But today you rode in the same car, sat together at breakfast, and even talked a little. What's changed? I'm interested and I don't like to be out of the loop." Beth replied.

"Basically he sat down with me and said we should try to make everything work to an extant for Lance's sake. At least until we can decide what we really want to do. The custody battle continues. To be honest I've hated every minute of having to be with him today. But I'm still not sure what I want."

"Wow."

"I know right?"

*Wes & Leo*

 "Alright so what's going on with you and my sister?"

"We are trying, well pretending to be happy for Lance's sake. Until we can decide what we want to do. Lance and I still live with my parents. But we do stuff with April a lot to look happy for him. He enjoys doing stuff with both of us at the same time.The time we've spent together today sucks. I've hated every minute of it. Your sister just has annoyed me today. But I still don't know what I want."

"Wow."

"What?"

*April & Beth*

" What about you and my brother?" 

"What about me and your brother?"

"I mean you had issues too. Now you two seem like you can't be happier. What changed for you? I thought today was your day for you?" April asked.

"Well since I went back to work it's been a lot better. Wes does everything he can to help with the kids as much as possible. I came up with the idea for today. I'm in a good place and so are Wes and I." Beth responded smiling.

"Awesome! I'm glad you two are better!" April said.

*Wes & Leo*

" What changed for ya'll?"  Leo asked.

"Beth going back to work and not being with the kids 24/7 seemed to help a lot. Not to mention I cook dinner when she's late and do as much as I can to make it feel like we are doing equal amounts around the house and for the kids. Everything today was her idea. She said she feels like she didn't need her day to herself today. We are truly doing great I couldn't be happier." 

"I'm glad someone is. No but seriously I'm glad you're doing good again. It's really great." Leo responded.

Then we all met back up. We went to lunch then the amusement park. The kids enjoyed the whole day and so did Beth and I. Now April and Leo I'm not sure about.

*The Next Day* *Wes & Beth*

"I'm really glad we did all of that yesterday it was a great day." I said.

"I totally agree Babe!" Beth responded.

Then we got some. It was great. I wore Beth out. That's right!

*April & Leo*

"April I think we need to talk." Leo said while sitting on the edge of the bed that used to be his.

"I agree."

"I'll start. Well I do love you. That has not changed. But honestly I didn't enjoy yesterday at all. You annoyed me. I don't know why. I think maybe I don't know..."

"I agree. Honestly I wanted to slap you the whole day. I had a horrible time too. But I do love you. I love you with all of my heart Leo. That's never changed." April said.

"I think we should get divorced." Leo stated.

"What?"

" We just agreed we can't stand each other most of the time. This is pointless. We are a lost cause. I think this is for the best."

"You know what I agree." April said.
