Their Last Meeting Before Marriage – One Last Time as Diya Sinha and Agni Saxena
It had been almost ten months since their families had arranged their match. Ten months of formal meetings, quiet observations, fleeting glances, and conversations that started as obligatory but soon became something more. Now, in just seven days, Diya Sinha would become Diya Agni Saxena.
The thought was both exhilarating and overwhelming. The house was alive with wedding preparations—relatives coming and going, bright decorations, and endless discussions about ceremonies and rituals. Every corner of her home smelled of fresh marigolds and incense, every room buzzed with laughter and music. But amidst all the celebrations, Diya felt a pull—a need for one last moment before everything changed.
Her phone vibrated just as she was adjusting her bangles.
Agni: "Meet me at our place. One last time before the wedding."
She stared at the message, her heart skipping a beat.
They hadn’t spoken properly in days. With all the wedding rush, their conversations had been limited to stolen moments and quick exchanges in front of their families. But now… he wanted to see her. Just them. No families. No traditions. No expectations.
She hesitated for a moment before grabbing her dress . And then she sneaked out through the back door.

A Café, A Conversation, A Confession
The small café they always met at was dimly lit, the warm glow of fairy lights giving it an intimate charm. It had been their safe space for months—a place where they weren’t "bride and groom" but just Diya and Agni.
When she arrived, he was already there, sitting in their usual corner by the window. He looked up the moment she walked in.For a second, she stilled. Dressed in a simple white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, Agni Saxena looked effortlessly calm—but his eyes told another story. There was something deep, unreadable in them, something that made her breath hitch.
"You’re late," he murmured, a teasing glint in his voice.
Diya smirked, sliding into the chair opposite him. "You should be used to it by now."
"I should," he admitted, "but I still wait like an idiot."
She let out a small laugh, but the weight in the air didn’t disappear. The reality of what was coming lingered between them.
After a moment of silence, she spoke. "One week."
He nodded. "One week, and everything changes."
Diya played with the edge of her shawl. "Are you nervous?"
Agni leaned back, watching her carefully. "Not nervous. Just… It’s strange, isn’t it? We’ve known each other for ten months, and yet I feel like there’s still so much I don’t know about you."
Her lips curled up slightly. "Maybe that’s a good thing. Marriage would be boring if we already knew everything about each other."
"True," he agreed, before pausing. "But I want to know more, Diya. I want to know what you’re thinking right now."
She hesitated. "What if I said I’m scared?"
His gaze darkened slightly. "Of what?"
"Of losing myself." She looked down. "I’ve always been Diya Sinha, with my own dreams, my own life. And now, suddenly, I’ll be someone’s wife, part of a new family. What if I forget who I am in the process?"
