The desk.
I approach it with slow steps and see her head resting against the table. Her arms are placed underneath her head and her hair pans around her face. I couldn't help but let out a small smile. In a world where being detached was rewarded, she taught me- us, something worth feeling.
Yet a tinge of anger and disappointment rushes through. Why would she sleep on this shitty desk when a whole bed was right in front of her. This quality of selflessness irked me to no end.
I bring my arms forward and lift her lightly from the chair.
"Mmm...I don't wan-mm.." She groans and mumbles before resting her cheek on my shoulder. Once she was settled and had fallen asleep I begin to walk slowly towards the bed. I gently lower her down and place her lightly on the soft surface. From my closet I pull out the biggest blanket I could find and cover her with it. I gather a couple of pillows and place them around her. I take a tissue box from my desk and bring a bottle of water, placing it on the side table.
That should be enough.
