RECAP: "What's your name?" I asked after washing my mouth with a few pink and brown liquids I did not know the names to.
"Edward Teach." He replied.

After lunch, it was finally time to start the training for the new recruits. We
all lined up beside each other as Captain Grayson gave us directions. I have to admit though, he wasn't too hard on us. He just paced back and forth while we listen to his instructions.
"Ms. Raven, ye shall receive special training in me cabin." He said, leaving me and Craig by ourselves. I noticed Rachel peering at me out of the corner of her eye as she walked past me and up the stairs to the captain's quarters. "Mr. Slate will give ye further instructions." Mr. Slate looked at us them pointed up to the sails.
"Tanner!" he yelled at us. We both stepped forward. Seeming angry, he stepped over to me and put his face right up to mine. "If ye think this be some funny trick," he almost whispered in my ear. "Then ye shall be punished." I was confused since he did say my last name. Though I've never known Craig's last name. Also he is the apprentice tanner in the town so Mr. Slate could've known his dad.
"Those sails need a patchin'!" He yelled "But before ye get started, I shall show ye how to operate the dingy." I snickered as I watched Craig grumbling while getting shoved over to the dingy. I also laughed when I saw the back of Slate's head. It's wrinkles made it look like a ripe head of lettuce and his ears looked like large tomatoes.
While waiting for them to return, I heard chatter coming from the captain's cabin. I glanced back at Mr. 'Salad' to make sure he wasn't looking.
I swiftly hopped up the curved stairs and looked through a bullet hole in the door. I saw Rachel sitting in the captain's armchair and noticed her nod swiftly. I peeked over to the other side of the room when I heard Captain Grayson Tell her some rules.
"Now, the only people in charge of ye, is Mr. Slate and meself. Now, ye can boss around anyone else on the crew even though you is smaller than most people." She nodded and grinned slightly at that permission. "But if ye is too harsh with the crew, or yer punishments be too severe, ye will be demoted and punished with the same punishment ye used on the crewman."
One thing I absolutely hate about being a pirate, is all the mosquitoes that hitch a ride on the food supply. I am super allergic to them and when they bite me, I get a bump the size of an apple. And when one landed on my thigh, I swatted it, completely forgetting my cover.
Captain Grayson turned to the door and opened it slowly. Behind me stood a very purple cabbage. So here I was, surrounded by two, very bulky pirates, with loaded pistols and exotic accents.
Mr. Salad put his hand on his sword and raised an eyebrow to indicate a suggestion but the Captain just shook his head. Instead he simply said, "Mr. Devon will spend one week in the crow's nest without food and only one canteen of water. Starting tomorrow." Mr. Salad looked disappointed and I saw Craig (covered head to toe in coral) scowl at the captain. Probably for not making me help him. I just sighed and went back to training.
The next morning when the sun was still low, I climbed up the ropes since the ladder couldn't be trusted, and enjoyed watching a perfect sunrise from the best seat on the ship.
After a few minutes of resting my head on my arms and looking out over the wild blue yonder with nothing to do, I noticed the crew coming out of the cabin and getting to work. I saw them pull the sails down and hoist the anchor. I even watched as Edward stumbled up the stairs for some fresh air. He looked up at me and waved while I waved back.
I noticed that we were really moving fast since the wind was blowing in my face pretty hard. The captain never told us where we were going but I soon found out when I spotted a small island in the middle of a slightly thin fog. It must of been some sort of supply route since I could see multiple ships already docked.
"Land!" I shouted joyfully for the captain to hear.
He looked up at me and tipped his hat. Rachel also looked up and smiled a little. I looked down at her and the rest of the crew and didn't see Craig at all. He was probably plunging the bilge or scrubbing the walls. I frowned at the thought that Lucas was probably doing the exact same thing by now, and wondered if he really wanted to be a pirate or not.
