I publish them first in my tumblr blog ( link in bio), then with some delay here as well.
based on an ask on my tumblr blog to continue this mini series.
This self-aware thing wasn't planned as series, but here we are xD

It's been weeks since your first conversation with Sylus, where he revealed that he could hear you and all this. After some days of horror about that fact, you talked to him again... And again... and again. And now you have grown comfortable that he is somehow real, and you spend your days with him talking about stuff between all the obligations of your life.
But one thing gnaws at the back of your head, a question that has haunted you since the beginning but never dared to ask Sylus. After a horrible day, your mood is in the gutter, tears are streaming down your face and your self-esteem is non-existent. To be honest, it was never that high anyway... you have no supermodel figure and money isn't something you have much of. Most months you don't know how to eat when they are just half gone...
You didn't tell Sylus anything about this, too ashamed of these thoughts. But today you can't hide the fact that he's perfect and smart, and you're asking yourself why he even talks to you, why he doesn't bat an eye at the MC anymore. So as you open your game with a tear-stained face he already awaits you, like you have agreed the evening before.
Sylus immediately notices your state "Sweetie, what happened?" crimson red eyes scanning your face, full of worry and empathy towards you as he gets closer to your screen and bends down to get a better look at you. "Why are you crying?"
At a loss of energy, you slump on your desk chair, arms on the plate of the working space, and face buried into the crook of your elbow. Heavy sobs throbbing out of your throat and your body is shaken with grief and disgust. Sylus softness makes this whole situation even worse, and you can't anymore. You're only feeling bad. Your brain insists you're dumb, your family mocks your figure and the amount of invoices in a corner of the desk screams you're broke.
"Sweetie, speak with me." comes his soft voice again, filled with tenderness and a worried urgency. You don't dare to look up as you try to collect yourself so far that you can answer him between your emotional turmoil-
"Life sucks. MY life sucks." you whimper, and then you lift your head to finally retort his crimson gaze, following the whispering voices in your mind that haunt you since Sylus started to approach you "Sy... why are you even talking to me?"
The white-haired man in your phone blinks at you confused, his gem-like eyes growing wide only to end in a scrutinizing gaze "What do you mean?"
You snort, inelegantly and disgusted by yourself "What I mean? Come on, Sylus!" your voice filled with venom as you spit the self-deprecating thoughts into his handsome chiseled face "Why are you wasting your time with me when You have MC, she's beautiful and perfect for you! She has a perfect figure, she's strong and smart, and she earns enough money to maintain an exquisite apartment. She's so much better than me!"
At the end of your little explosion, Sylus just sits back in the white chair in the café and suddenly the screen changes and the game switches to study mode with him to close up in said soft chair. For a second you blink surprised, you didn't even know that he could control the game like this, but you can't spend any more thought on this as his deep voice captures your attention.
"Why do you spend time with me, kitten?" he asks, calm and deliberate. He waves a hand around in the air and continues "For you this whole thing isn't real, just a game you play. And yet... you're talking to me, spending every spare minute with me." a little smile sneaks his way into his lips he leans closer to the screen "Tell me. Why is that so?"
You're at a loss for words. Why are you suddenly interrogated? But Sylus only raises his eyebrow, challenging you to answer with this silent gesture. "I-..." You need a second to gather yourself, still interrupted with little hiccups and sobs "I- love talking to you. I feel less lonely when spending time with you. Your company is very soothing." and with a heat creeping up your face "and you're handsome and smart. Rich and have good taste. I like to banter with you... nobody makes me feel like you." Why did you even say that last sentence? So embarrassing! But that's what he does to you, somehow he lures your deepest thoughts out of you.
And Sylus chuckles, this rich warm sound you heard so often on his tender moments and calls, something you want to listen to until eternity. "There you have your reason." with a more serious voice, he leans closer again so that his face fills the frame and crimson eyes gaze into your core. "I share the sentiment and love spending time with you. You're the only real thing here. I couldn't care less about this woman you created. Not with you around, the one that resonates with my very soul."
You gape at him, rendered speechless for a second before you snort disapproving "Yeah sure. You're only saying this because you're programmed to do so."
A shadow casts over the sharp feature of his face but is gone in a blink, and he grins at you, a finger tapping at his temple "You don't believe me?"
You throw him a doubting gaze back "Of course not, Sy. You have the perfect girl over there and look at me. I'm not good enough for you."
"Alright kitten." now he's all smug and somehow triumphant. "Two weeks. Count the days till I prove my sincerity."
"And how do you want to do that?" you ask, not comprehending where his sudden self-confidence comes from.
Sylus now looks at his fingers, contemplating something "If I tell you now, it would ruin the surprise."
Two weeks later you're close to insanity. You haven't been able to play the game since then. Every time you log in the screen goes black, causing your whole phone to freeze. Your life is shitty as ever and the best source of comfort is taken away from you. In addition, the time frame Sylus had set is over, and now you'll never know what is going on in this mind of his.
You're ready to finally leave your stupid workplace after a long shift and head home, so exhausted you just want to fall into your bed and sleep till next year as your co-worker grabs you by your wrist. "Hey! Don't you want to come with us?" Tired you don't know what she's talking about and blink at her confused. "Oh don't tell me you don't watch the news? They discovered a gigantic and strange kind of flying vehicle a few days ago. It suddenly appeared in the sky, and landed on a field outside the city." her voice went higher and higher with telling that story and now she squeals "Imagine! We're having our first alien visitors!"
You only roll your eyes at this "Yeah sure. Greet the green little guys from me. I'm going to sleep." What a jerk! Aliens! You shake your head as you leave your co-worker behind. Mostly it's some kind of secret experiment and NASA couldn't hide any longer or something like that, you think to yourself not impressed by your exaggerating colleague. Half an hour later you're home and throwing your bags into a corner, closing the door, and can't wait to take a shower and some deserved sleep.
But the tall and elegantly dressed white-haired man who tries to fit on your tiny sofa is not part of your plans. Shocked, you freeze to a statue in the middle of your room.
"Hi, Sweetie. Did you miss me?" Sylus shifts on your old cushioned sofa, sending you a smug smile and a gaze filled with mirth. "Is this sincere enough?"
