My various short stories, thoughts and headcannons about Love and Deepspace.
I publish them first in my tumblr blog ( link in bio), then with some delay here as well.
A drabble that is part of my 1k follower celebration on my tumblr blog. Based on a prompt game.

It's over. Your life has vanished, your cold body dissolved in countless specks of golden dust in the morning sun above the ocean.
But your soul can't let go, tethered to the bottomless waters where your beloved is home.
You promised you'll stay around him and you do.
But you weren't ready to see him after you sacrificed yourself for the greater good.
Rafayel doesn't move, doesn't react to the time flowing, and the ripples of the ocean waters as your body is long gone.
The bells that toll at Romirro in the far won't even startle him out of his grief.
Helplessly you were forced to watch him shed tear after tear, which turn into golden white pearls as soon as they leave his cheek and drop into the waters in an endless stream while his body shakes with his heavy sobs.
You don't have a body anymore, no hands to caress his face, no mouth to whisper some soothing words. You are only a spirit of the soul now.
But the sight of the grieving Lemurian Sea God also broke your heart.
You don't know what you've expected, how he would react, how Rafayel would feel after you've gone.
It definitely wasn't what you're faced with right now. You don't want him to be so devastated, so void of anything other than pure never-ending mourning.
His sobs still fill the air as your consciousness is drawn to him. You need to do something, anything to stop the numerous pearls falling into the depths of the ocean.
So your spirit drifts closer to him, cradling him with what is left of a human shape in that ghost-like state that you are.
And with your spirited lips, you place a ghosted kiss at his forehead, whispering soundless words into his ear. Even if he can't hear them, nor feel your embrace... Maybe his soul still registers your proximity and it can console his broken heart.
Seeing him like this, so devastated-utterly destroyed even - You can't stand it, that's not what you've intended. You wanted to save him, to rescue his life so he could bring Lemuria back to glory, not falling apart because you fulfilled your vow.
So you cling to him with all that is left of your soul and mind, huddling him with the non-existent shell of your figure.
If you could cry, you would - together with your beloved Sea God.
