"Kat?" someone asked and shook my shoulder to wake me up, and I bit back a small groan of annoyance before I furrowed my brows and bit the inside of my lip while I buried myself closer to the warm thing that I was beside, not doing what they wanted me to do. "Wake up, Love. We are at the house, and we are the last people in the van."

They paused and shook me again when I groaned in annoyance and didn't open my eyes. "They are waiting for you to get out of the van before they go into the house. They don't want to leave us behind."

"No," I grumbled while I bit back a small whine, and my bottom lip quivered because I didn't like that at all. Tears pricked the corner of my eyes at the thought of having to wake up and deal with everything that I have to deal with filled my mind, and my heart broke. "I don't want to wake up. Leave me alone and shut up."

The person chuckled amused and pressed a small kiss to my lips, and I instantly kissed them back, knowing full well that it was my mate. He pulled away from me, and I bit back a small whine while I furrowed my brows and opened my eyes to see my mate sitting beside me with a look of concern and worry flashing through his eyes.

I didn't say a word and slowly blinked while I stared at him, not happy that he had woken me up, even though we were back at the pack house and needed to go inside with the rest of the group.

"Hey," he said and moved a hand through my hair, and I closed my eyes and placed my hand on his, enjoying the warmth and comfort he brought me. He furrowed his brows and cocked his head to the side while he studied me, pressing his lips into a thin line. "Are you feeling ok?"

I hesitated before I shook my head. "No," I said and bit the inside of my lip, and tears started to prick the corners of my eyes again. "I am not ok." I licked my lips and shook my head, blinking back the tears that wanted to fall from my eyes. "We can talk later," I said, my voice barely above a whisper and shaking ever so slightly.

Worry flashed through my mate's eyes, and he hesitated before he slowly nodded. 'Is it because your mom is outside, and you do not want her to hear anything that you have to say?' he asked, through our bond, and I hesitated before I slowly nodded in confirmation.

'Yes,' I said and licked my lips while I looked away from him. "Can you carry me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, and my mate bit back a small chuckle while he slowly nodded in confirmation.

"Of course," he said and unbuckled my seatbelt before he started to get out of the car, pulling me out of the car with him, and I closed my eyes while he did that because I was afraid of seeing my mom and the disappointed look on her face.

My tiger spirit whined when that thought crossed my mind, and my sadness became her own. She didn't say a word and didn't try to tell me any differently because she had no idea if what she was thinking was true or not and didn't want to get my hopes up as well.

Brody pulled me out of the car, and I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into the crook of his neck and shoulder. He rubbed my back, leaving sparks in its wake, and my heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in my chest.

Oh, Gods...

"Is she ok?" my aunt asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Concern filled her voice when she caught sight of me, and I could tell that she didn't like the idea of me being so down and sad. "Her mom's wondering if she is ok or not."

"She will be ok," Brody said and nodded. He hesitated and licked his lips while he tapped my side. 'Can I?' he asked, his voice barely above a whisper while he tucked his head closer to his chest, studying me, and I knew that he wanted to tell them about what I was feeling but didn't without my permission.
