I awoke to hear a car beeping. I checked my phone, it was 12:18 in the morning. I looked out of my little dirty window. A familiar black Escalade was parked right in front of the house.
I threw on my off brand shoes, put on a black sweatshirt and some gray pants, grasped my phone and ran outside. I opened and creaked the door open slowly and saw a girl where I thought a man would be. I opened the passenger seat door and got in.
"Hailie, what the serious fug are you doin'?!" I said and she laughed.
"This is the last night or day I'll be able to to see you without consequences." She said, strapping herself in.
"Whatchu mean?" I asked heartedly.
"My dad doesn't want us to be together. He says you're a bad influence, and I just couldn't deal with that. So, I got this plan to get back at Ashlee, steal his car and get have the greatest night of my life. And I wanted you to be with me." She said, a sweet gleam in her eye. Even in the dark of night, I could still see the cerulean in her eyes. And I wanted to go with her.
"Aight, where we going first?" I finally said and she cheered. She revved up the car and we exploded out of the neighborhood.
We were laughing along as Hailie was driving. We hooked up my ghetto arse phone to the AUX cord, and bam we had all the hip hop tracks we could ever want. We were playing "N.Y. State of Mind" which had grown to become our song. It was loud and we were having a blast pretending to rap along.
"Where does Ashlee live?" She asked and I had to think a little bit. When I used to date her, she lived in this apartment in Greenfield. It was for a bunch of old people, but I'm sure they were all sleeping.
"Chestershire Apartments in Greenfield." I said and she nodded. I leaned over and kissed her cheek and she smiled while looking at me.
"Alright, we gotta stop by Walmart first. I've got something to get here." She said and I nodded.
We pulled into the large, partially empty Walmart parking lot. We parked the car near the back and walked into Walmart cracking jokes and parodying the people in there. It's times like this where I see how lucky I am to have Hailie.
We went in and straight to the section with the hair dye.
"Okay, you go to the boys section and get the ugliest, most offensive shirt you can find." She told me and I nodded.
Practically running, I headed for the back of the store, where I bought all my clothes and where the ugliest, most offensive shirts lived. The only other person was a fat, gross looking guy with his hands in the back of his dirty jeans. I got as far I could away from that guy.
After a few minutes of pining, I settled on a white XXXXXL shirt with crossed out gay flag on the cover. Underneath in big, stocky black letters it read, "Will Not Tolerate" with a little cross over the "i" in will. I laughed at it and it was nestled way in the bottom of the full bargain bin. I dug down deep to get it. I looked at it quickly and walked back over to the hair dye section.
She was still there, holding three high bottles of black hair dye, a transparent bottle of peroxide, an a bunch of nearly black bananas and a travel sized razor.
"Dude where in the fug did you find that fugging shirt?!" Hailie said, laughing hard.
"In the back." I said and she laughed even harder. We walked up to the cashier. She looked at us with a bored expression. Hailie paid for everything on her credit card. We bagged up the items and ran outside, the florescent light picking up the light snow falling down.
