*Hailie's Birthday

I was awoken by Whitney's footsteps running down the hallway. I shifted over to the left side of the bed to see Catie asleep still.

She came over last night to spend Christmas Eve with us because she didn't have any family to go back home to. We were in the bed together, nothing sexual happening and then we made out. For like fifteen minutes. I have to say, I've made out with plenty of ladies in my existence, but none of them were as good as Catie and I's experience. My hands wrapped around her protruding hips and her arms wrapped around my waist.

It felt good.
It felt so good.

I looked at her. She's snoring lightly and her body goes up and down softly with each inhale. Her makeup came off when she took a shower here last night, but even without it she looked stunning. Catie's hair was up in a ponytail and it swung down her back. The covers concealed her oversized t-shirt that just so happened to be Lanie's. They happened to wear the same size up top and it could fit over Catie's bottom.

I get out of my bed carefully. I didn't want to wake her. I went in the bathroom, did my business, brushed my teeth and put on some pants and a different shirt. I then walked out into the huge living room to see Whit shaking a mint green wrapped present. For once, her phone is on the couch and not in her hands. I sit down next to her and helped her open it. The sunlight from the early morning is creeping in and lighting the living room a light yellow.

"Oh my God!" She shouted and picked up the anchor necklace with a real sapphire stud in the center. Catie picked it out a few days ago and adored it. She actually paid for it, wrapped it, the whole ordeal. It's just things like that that made me love her even more.

The cream colored card with cursive writing on it was stuck to the top. Whit read it aloud.

"Dearest Whitney,

I hope you love my present as when I saw it, I picked it out for you. I heard that blue is your favourite colour so of course, I purchased the blue. You are a very beautiful, intelligent, sweet girl. And now you have a beautiful necklace to go along with your looks.

Enjoy it,

Catharine A. Greene"

Speaking of Catie, she was now up and walking into the room. I heard water rushing in the bathroom as Whitney was reading. I caught a glimpse of her. She looked exactly like she was supposed to be here. As soon as she came in, Whitney jumped up and hugged her tightly. Catie and I laughed as Whitney gave her words of gratitude.

She then sat down because Catie was going to put it on her. She held back Whitney's long blonde hair as she put the necklace on. It twinkled in the sunlight and it looked gorgeous on my daughter.

Whitney opened the rest of her presents, Catharine filming it with her decade old camera she brought from Alaska. I looked at her warmly and she looked at me with a face that screamed "Isn't this what your supposed to do?"

Afterwards, we all walked into the kitchen and ate whatever was available. By then end of our search, we all had bowls of cereal sitting around the circular, glass kitchen table. I sat next to Catharine and leaned in to tell her something.

"Yo, your amazing, did you know that?"

"I'm afraid I do." She said dramatically and I chuckled.

"So, you gonna stay for Hailie's party?" I asked and she raised a eyebrow.

"But she hates me. Ya really want that kind of explosion now?" She said. Whitney noted her accent and finally inquired about it.

"Hey Catharine, where are you from?"

"Ireland. But I moved to the U.S. when I was twelve and I moved to Detroit in 2009."

After she finished off her bowl and put it inside the sink, Whitney replied.

"Sweet. Isn't Ireland full of like pubs and beer?" She asked and I snorted in laughter. Catie looked like she was about to explode in giggles as as well.

"Yeah. Isn't America filled with obese, gun toting racists?" She asked and I laughed loudly. Whitney blushed when she realized the stereotyping. She giggled and Catie smiled.

"It's alright, I still like ya, love." She said and Whitney ran of to get ready, her necklace glinting in the light.

Catharine looked at me and laughed and I laughed with her. I felt as if she was like my wife or somethin'.

Wait, what? That's insane. Catie Greene, my second wife? I mean, my kids did seem to like her, she made a lot of friends. I thought about Hailie's birthday party that'd taking place later on today. All my friends and some of Kim's family would be there. That would be the most perfect time for Catharine meet everyone. But I had to keep her away from Kim because I wanted the main focus to be on Hailie.

All I had to do though, was get Catie to say yes.

"Hey, Catie, can I ask you somethin'?"

"Yes, Marshall?" She said, turning to me.

"Aye, so Hailie's havin' this party later, 'cause it's her birthday today. All my friends are gonna be there plus some family and I wanted to see if you wanted to, you know. Meet everyone?" I looked at her alluring Sienna brown eyes and she processed the decision.

"Isn't Kim going to be there?" She said finally. I nodded.

"But I'll make sure that you guys don't interact because I want the majority of the night be about Hailie." Catie waited a little bit before finally coming to a decision.

"Alright, fine. No Kim?" She asked, her eyes wide and her lips smirked

"No Kim, I swear." I said and I kissed her lightly on the forehead. She blushed and kissed me back.

It's a loving relationship we have...

/Okay so originally I was going to do the whole party scene from Marshall's POV, but I decided it'd be more interesting from Catie's POV. QOTC: What was your favorite scene to read from Hailie and Andre? Or Ailie as rookiem named it😂? My favorite to write was probably the Ashlee prank scene or the ring scene lol.
Okay, catch ya later😉~marshallisillmatic\
