*Final Day Of School
My eyes popped open, "Nas Is Like" coming on. I knew it was my ringtone for Shady, so I answered.
"Hey?" I asked.
"Dre, I'm outside. Wake the fug up." He said quickly before hanging up. God, Kaiden was such a weirdo.
Ever since there were some shootings done by who we suspect is my mom's dealer, killed about twelve people, Shady's been offering to take me to school.
I get up, brush my hair, brush my teeth, wash my face and put on a white shirt and some black jeans. It was my final day of high school, my last day here. My duct taped suitcase was already packed. A few weeks ago, I mowed three other peoples giant lawns and got on hundred more dollars, so I have my funds restored. I packed all of my clothes, my other pair of shoes and everything I'd need last night.
The only thing I was truly broken up about leaving was Hailie. Like everyone else at Carson Daily, she had gotten accepted into a college and was going this summer. I'd already gotten a hook up at one of my past friends places, so today would be the last guaranteed day I'd be able to see her.
I pushed my ring up onto my finger due to it slipping down. I grabbed the frayed handle on my suitcase, put on my shoes and slipped on my headphones. As for a phone bill, I'd been getting illegal service for the last couple years and I planned to keep it that way. I turned up "u" by Kendrick Lamar and looked one last time at my bedroom.
My bed was neatly made and all my drawers were emptied. Everything that's happened in here, all the tears, all the fights, all the make outs everything. I walked out, the only thing in my hands is the handle with the remaining pieces of my life and my phone. And I softly shut the door on the past seventeen years of my life.
Shady was honking his horn like a mother fugger outside and I hurried along outside, chucked my things into the backseat and jumped into the front seat. We drove off and for the last time, I glimpsed at my home. I kept my face to the road as I took off my headphones and paused my song.
"Yo, so do you want me to drop you off at the bus stop or what?" Kaiden asked. He seemed a little off because Ashlee cheated on him with Lewis Reese a few weeks ago. Hailie and I could've called it from a mile away, but we consoled him.
"Yeah. I'll just catch a bus over there." I said, leaning back in the seat. Kaiden's twenty three year old car sputtered and coughed the whole ride to school. It's half working and the AC cut out in the 90s, but it runs.
We pulled into the parking lot, every senior there in a silky white or right red graduation rope. I got out, feeling a bit like an outcast without it. I hugged Shady and thanked him for the ride and grabbed the suitcase.
Hailie ran up to me as I was almost in the doors. I picked her up by the waist and swung her around. I set her down and sees she's in heels. I take her in one last time.
Beautiful, sparkling blue eyes, blonde curls waving in the wind, body hidden by a silky white rope. Her lips shine with pink and she just looks so stunning. I kissed her cheek.
"You look so beautiful, Hailie." I said and she blushed.
"Thanks. Are you coming in? Because Ari and Marjorie are already there." She aimed a perfectly manicure index finger at the doors. She looked at my suitcase and the excitement fell off her face.
"You're leaving today?" She asked, heart broken. I told her that I was leaving the next day.
"I know, baby. But he's already got things set up over there. And if I waited, the offer might be gone." It sounded so retarded coming out of my mouth, but it as true. He was a strict mother fugger.
