Chapter thirteen

Why...why is Silver working with Zero? I shake my thoughts as I listen into their conversation.
"Silver my old freind! How's life treating you eh?"
"Enough with the pleasantries Tyrus. Do you have the means necessary to confirm the coup?"
"Straight to the point eh? That's new."
"Answer the question."
I notice that Silver isn't acting himself. As he grabs Tyrus I see a metal arm. As I look his left leg is metal as well. Looks like he was tortured and mangled until his will was broken. These metal replacements must be the aftermath of that. Silver...what happened to you.
"Easy Silver! As of now I am the only one who knows but give the word for me to act and Candridge will be in a civil war before the resistance could mount a counter attack!" Silver releases his grip on his collar and Tyrus dusts off.
"Im glad you've chosen the right side in this war. Be warned if this fails...I'm coming for you."
"Y-Yea I got you."
"You have two days to act in three days if nothing happens you'll regret it."
"Yes...Silver.."
Silver turns and looks towards us and smiles before turning back to Tyrus.
"I'll be leaving now. Have a mice chat with your freinds."
Tyrus looks at him confused before Silver teleports away and the bots leave. All three of us jump down from the tree and Tyrus makes a run for it. Theres no way we will catch him.
"Your not goin' no where!" Sirus says pulling out a rope with two weighted balls on the ends. He spins the balls around befor launching them at Tyrus. They wrap around his feet and he crashes to the ground.
"Yes!" I hear Echo cry out. We rush over to him and he frantically tries to undue his feet his gaze is met with Sirus' fists as he climbs ontop of him and begins wailing on him. Sirus stands up and grabs Tyrus up and throws him into a tree. Blood trickles down his nose as Sirus puts a knife to his throat, murder in his eyes.
"Sirus! Stop! Please!"
"Why! You sold us out! Your no better then the dirt I walk on!"
I grab Sirus on his shoulder and he shifts his gaze to me.
"What!"
"I said I'd help find him!"
"I said leave him to me!"
"I'm not going to stand here and let you murder someone!"
"He's not a person, he's just a low life who would sell his sole if it would bring enough gold! He is pitiful and weak!"
"Yea...and what does that make you if kill him!"
"I..."
He drops the knife and Tyrus sighs. He begins to thank me as Sirus forces his fist across his face laying him out cold. He drops to the ground with a thud.
"I didn't kill him..."
"No..But you are packing him."
"Packing him?
"Yes...I have a plan for him..."
I pull up Shadows pager and he answers.
"What is it Jade?"
"I...have found a leed...don't tell Blaze, but I have found Silver."
"Is he alright?"
"I'll...fill you in later. Meet me tomorrow and ill fill you in."
"Undersood."
I return my attention to Sirus and Echo.
"Well...it will be daylight in a few hours..."
"Yea..."
Echo's eyes widen.
"Lets camp here!"
Both Sirus and I shrug.
"Might as well."
"Ok...one of us will have to sleep alone...the other will have to bunk up with someone."
"Why is that?"
"Thats the only two tents I brought with me..." she says pulling out two tents from her bag. She really does expect everything doesn't she.
"I'll sleep alone." I hear Sirus say.
I see Echo get red faced.
"I...guess that means its me and you Jade..."
"If...you say so..."
We set up camp and head to bed. The tent was small so we had to share a cover.
"I'm....not use to sleeping with someone..." Echo says nervously.
"It's...different....especially when you don't...know the person that well."
She sighs andnwe both roll over and we get nose to nose. We both sit up and realize how akward this was.
"Jade..."
"Yea?"
I already knew what she was going to say.
"I'll sleep outside...its alright."
"No don't...I was going to say...that whoever this Ember girl is...she's lucky to have you.."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean...not a lot of guys would be up to sleeping in a tent with some random girl that he just met this day. At least without the intentions of dating..."
"Heh...I...guess I never really thought about it like that..."
I lay back down and give her my side of the cover.
"This can be sort of like our buffer zone ya know?"
I smile as Iay down.
"Thanks..."
She rolls over and we meet eyes...she closes hers and I do the same...I fall asleep before I realize it.
