Chapter fourteen

I wake up before Echo does. I peek outside and the sun has barely rose. I jump as Echo rolls over and her hand hits me. I look at her, her goggles hanging sideways off her head, I chuckle as she snores. As I exit the tent I notice Sirus watching Tyrus like a hawk. I walk over to him and sit next to him.
"You ok? You kinda lost it last night."
"Yea...it's just...I worked so hard to make this group. I put my own hard work, time, and money in this group just to have him slander it and try to sell me out."
"I get that...I know how hard that must be to have everything you have taken from you..."
"Living like this...knowing that you're doing everything you can to do good...but..."
"Everything is looked over because of him?"
He gleams up at the sky.
"I made this little town into something people respect...did I take credit for it...no...but it's still my town...ya know?"
I didn't answer him...but I did know...I helped Ellex and Linix make Honeymoon into the main camp it is today. I hear Tyrus cough so I head over to him I stick my hand out and he flinches.
"Relax..."
He grabs my hand I pull him to his feet and escort him over to Sirus.
"What...are you doing!"
"I said relax."
I set him down infront of Sirus and I watch as the two of them talk. I decide to give them some space. I gather some firewood from around the opening and I notice someone walking towards us. I motion for Tryus and Sirus to stay down. As they move closer I notice it's Shadow and Blaze. I sigh as I let everyone know that were in the clear. As I walk to them I pull Shadow to the side and allow Blaze to continue forward.
"Shadow...Silver is working with Zero..."
"You're sure of this?"
"Yes we have the entire conversation between him and this guy." I say motioning towards Tyrus
"This guy?"
"Yea...he apparently was planning on allowing Candridge to fall under siege by Zero's army."
"So Silver was his face person eh? Nothing better then a former freedom fighter to help seal the deal."
"Another thing...Silver...is different now..."
"What do you mean?"
"He has a metal arm and leg as well as a new attitude..."
"I see..."
We head towards the rest of the group and I notice Echo is now awake and is already her hyper self. I allow Shadow to get what he needs out of Tyrus. Blaze seems to be "enjoying" Echo's explanation of how things went down yesterday. I smile as Blaze sends me a look of help. I shrug my shoulders as if not knowing what she ment. I walk over to Sirus who seemed...preoccupied.
"Whats up?"
"What do we do with him now?"
"The plan was to hold him until Silver came...I planned on letting him take care of em."
"I...want him to be protected..."
"What? Are you sure?"
He looks down at the ground clenching his fists.
"No matter what...he is one of us...plus...if anyone gets to him...it's me."
I sigh and shrug my shoulders.
"Fine...we'll use him to draw in Silver and then let him loose once we get Silver."
"Thanks...this means alot to me...also...if I'm going with you I'll need someone to take over for me..."
"Him?"
"Yea...he has a good heart and he was looking out for us. He thought by helping Zero he'd be getting us out of dodge."
"If...you say so..."
I head over to distract Echo and allow Blaze to escape
"Thank you." She whispers to me as she walks past. I show Echo my watch and in seconds she learns how to use it better then I do. Well...I guess Jinx has met his match.
