"So, does a person have to be dying to become like you?"

Bella asked the vampire as she, (Y/n) and Edward were walking out of the woods and came to stop on a small hill that overlooks the entire sea where they could hear the water moving in the background.

(Y/n) was holding Bella hand to make sure that she doesn't trip while they carefully get down even Edward had his hand on the young witch is back to make sure she doesn't fall off.

"No, that's just Carlisle. He'd never do this to someone who had another choice." The vampire explained as they had come to stop in front of the view of the entire ocean with the mountains seen in the background.

"So, how long have you been like this?"

"Since 1918. That's when Carlisle found me dying of Spanish influenza." The vampire said, remembering on the day, he was laying on his death bed, going to pass away by his illness only to be turn to a vampire when Carlisle bitten down on the side of his neck causing unbearable pain to spread all around Edward body when the venom was sent through his body.

"What was it like?"

"The venom was excruciating. But what Carlisle did was much harder. Not many of us have the restraint to do that." Edward explained, remembering how Carlisle was feeling guilty for what he had done and seeing the young brown haired male be in excruciating pain from the venom.

Right now the trio is underneath the trees, trying to not get themselves wet from the rain that was beginning to pour down as (Y/n) had her arm over Bella, using the other hand where it was glowing (f/c) lightly and a small barrier is above her and Bella and Edward to not get wet by the rain.

The vampire had removed his jacket and placed it around (Y/n) is shoulder to give her a bit more warmth, which she appreciated as she smiled at him that he returned with a loving one.

The teenage girl kept herself close to the immortal witch as she was grateful for her to put a small barrier above the trio to keep them from getting wet by the rain.

"But didn't he just have to bite?"

"Not exactly. When we taste human blood, a sort of frenzy begins, and it's almost impossible to stop."

"But Carlisle did." Bella said in the conversation as she looked over at the vampire that continued to tell about him and his family."First with me and then with his wife, esme."

"So is Carlisle the real reason that you don't kill people?"

It has finally stopped raining as (Y/n) had make sure that her (h/c) hair isn't dampened by the rain even she tried to return Edward's is jacket but he had her keep it on her as they get themselves out under the rain and sit by the hill that views the ocean and mountain.

"No, he's not the only reason. I don't want to he a monster. My family, we think of ourselves as vegetarians, right, cause we only survive on the blood of animals. But it's like a human only living on tofu. It keeps you strong, but you're never fully satisfied." Edward said with a grin on his lips."It wouldn't be like drinking your blood, for instance."

Bella huffed quietly, smiling as (Y/n) smiled softly, shaking her head as the mortal girl thought about what had happened to Waylon.

"Was it other vampires that killed waylon?" She asked which caused the smile on the witche's lips to fade, a hardened expression on her face, her eyes narrowed as she gaze at Edward who looked at her with a serious expression on him.

"Yeah. There are others out there, and we run into them from time to time. But (Y/n) had to keep herself away from those vampires that drink blood." He told her with a hint of protectiveness in him as the teenage girl raised an eyebrow of hearing this."Why?"
