(Y/n) was at the hospital, she frowned, watching Bella get taken to the ER to get her wounds treated as Carlise had made sure that he gave a good story of what had happened to her.
She was beside Edward and she could tell is worried as Jasper, Emmett, and Alice left to go find Victoria to see if she was anywhere nearby to make sure that she didn't go after (Y/n) and Bella.
The witch had her hand on his upper arm having Edward glance over at her "She's gonna be alright." She gave him a comforting smile which he appreciated and nodded, giving a grateful smile to her.
"I'm just glad that you're able to be there in time and I was there in time as well to save you from James going to bite you." He let out a sigh, his face hardened from remembering what the vampire had done to his lover and (Y/n).
"Yeah, thank you for that Edward." The immortal woman thanked him and he held her hand with his cold one "Of course, (Y/n). You are important to me and my family."
The (h/c) haired woman had a soft expression on her face "That's swe-" a wince was left from her lips as she held her side causing the vampire to be very concerned and had his hands on her shoulders "(Y/n). What's wrong?" He asked with concern.
"My side..." she answered and Edward frowned and had her sit down on the nearby chair in the waiting room "I'm gonna get Carlise, stay here." He kisses her head and goes off to find Carlise.
(Y/n) groans as she had her hand on the side of her waist, she didn't heal any wounds she had on her because she was so focused on Bella and saving her and had forgotten them.
She heard footsteps coming over and looked up to see Carlisle who had come over with Edward as they had worried looks on their faces "(Y/n), Edward said to me that you're hurting on your side which one?" The blonde vampire asked her.
"My right one." She told him and Carlisle nodded, he gave her a look if it was okay to lift her shirt to see her wound and she nodded, giving him the acceptance of his consent and he crouched down, lifting her shirt to see a bruise forming on her side of her waist and he then gently place his fingers on the side and pressed on it lightly causing her to hiss.
"Sorry, sorry." He apologized and he examined the bruise and he could feel a rib bone had broken "Seems you had gotten a broken rib, did James hit your side?" He asked, his tone smooth but there was a hint of anger about James hurting the beautiful woman in front of him.
Edward felt furious as well at the thought of what James had done to her and he was disappointed in himself for not being able to protect (Y/n) from the attacks that caused her to get hurt.
"Yeah, he did. I was gonna summon a chain to try and pin him down but he was able to leave a bruise on me, using all his strength to hit me."
Carlise face turned serious at hearing this "All alright, let's get you treated. I know you can heal yourself but you should give yourself a rest from using your abilities since it must've been a while since you fought against someone."
(Y/n) sighed, nodding as she knew that she did need to take it easy on herself since it had been quite awhile since she had used any of her abilities to fight against a vampire.
So Carlisle gets up, gently puts her shirt back, and goes to find a nurse to get her treated and Edward gazes at the witch and goes over to her, bending down and grabbing her hands.
"I'm sorry..."
(Y/n) raised eyebrow in confusion "For what?" She asked and Edward sighed, placing his forehead on her knuckles as he closed his eyes "I'm sorry for not being able to protect you and not able to be there in time to save you from any attacks that bastard would throw at you." He confessed, feeling guilty, disappointed, and worried.
