01.Bitchy.
That was the first word that came to Selma's head as she rolled out of bed. The weather always seemed to dictate her mood for the rest of the day and that sun which was on the verge of blinding her seemed to spell out the word bitchy.
"Fucking hell," she muttered as her leg hit the bedside shelf, making her hop in pain for about five seconds. When the stinging pain calmed down, she carried out her morning rituals of making her dark curls more appealing to her fellow mundane's sense of sight, brushing her teeth — although she wasn't expecting any morning kisses from her husband — and washing the sleep off her features.
And like every other day, she was on her way to Rae's room but there on the floor, just opposite the bathroom cabinet, was a wrinkled note. Selma, not able to hold back her curiosity, bent to pick it up and unfold it. She instantly recognized the penmanship as hers and read:
Hey chicken in my soup,
I'm leaving for Sami's now, but I'm taking Rae with me since today is Mia's day off. I'll see you if you decide to prepare for work like the snail that you are. But do consider sleeping in... I'd very much appreciate it if you did ;)
I love you, my buttercup.
P.S: Shave that stupid stubble off or start considering the couch a really comfortable bed. And no kisses for a week...
Once again, I love you, my big dum dum.
Your ever-beautiful, stunning, amazing, modest wife,
Selma."Awwn," she cooed to herself, lips pulling up into a smile, but that smile soon turned upside as it dawned upon her that her lovely note had been scrunched into a messy ball by her husband. How romantic, Jamal.
Selma was definitely on a roll with how much her mood was swinging and she hadn't even been up for more than ten minutes. And as she stepped into Rae's room, a grin started making its way to her face. She could hear him laughing and babbling away.
