The sun was beginning to set on the horizon, casting an orange glow over the sleek and powerful battleship known as Nova. Inside, Class 1-A were gathered in the main lounge, a massive, high-tech space filled with comfortable seating and a giant holographic display currently tuned to the JP Hero Billboard Chart broadcast.
Laughter and chatter filled the room as the students enjoyed their downtime, many of them excitedly discussing what was to come.
Denki: Man, I can't wait to see the rankings this time! "He said, practically bouncing in his seat". I mean, we already know who's gonna be the big boss, right?
Mina: Yeah, but it'll still be fun to watch, "she added, sipping on her drink". I just wanna see how the pro heroes react when Midoriya gets his moment. "She nudged Fumikage playfully". I bet you've got some fans, too, Tokoyami! Hawks is super popular, and you trained under him!
Before Fumikage could respond, he suddenly sneezed.
Denki: See? Someone's totally talking about you!
Fumikage crossed his arms.
Tokoyami: Unlikely. It's far too soon for me to have gained any significant recognition.
Ochaco, sitting next to Melissa, smiled softly.
Ochaco: I dunno, Tokoyami. You're pretty cool, and working with Hawks must've made an impression on people.
Melissa nodded.
Melissa: Even if you don't have a fanbase yet, you're definitely making an impact.
Fumikage merely sighed, folding his arms.
Before the discussion could continue, the broadcast began, and the students immediately focused on the screen. The event was being held at Kamino, a place still etched into history due to All Might's and Izuku's final battle.
The tension in the air was palpable as Mera, the new Hero Public Safety Commission president, stepped forward. He adjusted his microphone and began reading out the rankings.
Mera: Starting with number 10... Ryukyu.
The screen showed the Dragon Hero standing with her arms crossed, nodding as the crowd cheered.
Mera: Ninth, Yoroi Musha.
The armored hero gave a short bow.
Mera: Eighth, the Laundry Hero: Wash.
A loud "WASH!" sound effect accompanied the reveal, making some people chuckle.
Mera: Seventh, Kamui Woods.
The camera focuses on the serious-faced Pro Hero standing with his arms folded.
Mera: Sixth, Shield Hero: Crust.
The bearded hero saluted the crowd.
Mera: Fifth, Mirko, the Rabbit Hero.
The screen showed Mirko with her signature confident grin, flexing a bicep.
Mera: Fourth, the Ninja Hero: Edgeshot.
The crowd erupted into cheers as Edgeshot gracefully stepped forward.
Mera: Third, Best Jeanist.
Even though he was absent, the mention of his name still drew applause.
Mera: Second, the Winged Hero: Hawks.
The camera cut to Hawks, who lazily waved to the audience, smirking slightly.
