The aftermath of the League of Villains' attack left a heavy silence over the clearing, broken only by the crackling remnants of the fires and the hushed murmurs of students tending to each other. Aizawa, his face shadowed with a rare expression of deep concern, moved quickly to coordinate the care of the injured. The League's assault had been brutal and left a devastating toll in its wake.
Tiger and Mandalay from the Wild Wild Pussycats sifted through the rubble and remnants of the battle, their expressions darkening when Tiger noticed something small and yellow amid the blood and dust. He bent down, grimacing as he pulled up Ragdoll's broken headgear, stained with blood.
Tiger: No... "his hand trembled as he gripped the piece of Ragdoll's gear, piecing together the horrific implications".
Mandalay's voice caught in her throat, and she placed a hand on Tiger's shoulder.
Mandalay: It must have been one of those... things, "she said, a note of bitterness entering her voice". They've taken her...
Nearby, Vlad King was on his phone, urgently coordinating with emergency services. As he gave details on the students' conditions, his face showed the strain of the situation. The League's attack had left them scrambling, and they were dealing with a mix of serious injuries and abductions.
Vlad: They're sending medics, "he said, his voice a mixture of frustration and relief as he approached Aizawa". Firefighters are coming to put out the flames. And ambulances are on their way — we're going to need every one of them.
Aizawa nodded, his gaze scanning over the injured students. There were 15 who had been knocked out by the gas, most of them in serious condition from prolonged exposure. Each breath they took seemed shallow and labored. In addition, 11 other students sported various injuries — burns, scrapes, twisted ankles, and cuts from close encounters with the villains or the flames. Only 9 students had escaped unscathed.
And then, of course, four: Ochaco, Melissa, Izuku, and mysteriously Katsuki were missing.
The weight of their absence hung over the survivors like a storm cloud. Aizawa clenched his fists, forcing himself to focus on the remaining students in his care. They needed him now, perhaps more than ever.
The medical teams soon arrived, their flashing lights illuminating the grim scene. They worked quickly to stabilize the students suffering from gas exposure, laying them out on stretchers and administering oxygen masks to help them breathe. A few students hovered close by, refusing to leave their classmates' sides.
Aizawa's voice broke through the stillness.
Aizawa: Listen up, everyone, "he called, gathering the students who could still stand". The League has targeted you, and that means this camp is over. We're going to regroup and focus on ensuring everyone's safety until we get back to U.A.
Vlad King stepped up beside him, grim but resolute.
Vlad: Three villains have been apprehended, "he announced, pointing to where the captured villains were being held by police". But the others escaped... without a trace.
This revelation sent a ripple of anger and frustration through the crowd. Iida, his face a mask of controlled fury, clenched his fists.
Tenya: This... this can't happen, "he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper".
Aizawa: Calm down, Iida, "he said, his voice steady". We'll have answers soon, but right now, we need to focus on recovery. Losing control won't help us bring anyone back.
As the emergency teams continued their work, the weight of the missing students bore down on everyone. Shoto stood off to the side, his face unreadable as he stared at the ground. He'd lost precious friends, and he knew how high the stakes had become. His hands still tingled from his earlier attempts to reach the portal. The memory of his failure burned as hotly as any flame.
