The battle raged on, rain pouring down in thick sheets, the air buzzing with energy. Melissa and Ochaco stood side by side, their new forms radiating power. The storm above seemed to reflect the intensity of the fight, thunder rumbling in the distance as flashes of lightning illuminated the battlefield.
Izuku wiped a small trail of blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. He grinned.
Izuku: You two really outdid yourselves, "he said, rolling his shoulders". I'm proud.
Melissa tightened her grip on her Star Core Lance, the newly enhanced weapon humming with an intense blue glow.
Melissa: Don't get soft on us now, Izuku, "she shot back, lightning crackling around her armor". You're still the strongest, right?
Ochaco smirked, her new silver-gray eyes sharp and focused.
Ochaco: We're not done yet.
They vanished.
Izuku's instincts flared as Melissa struck first. Her Star Core Lance was a blur as she thrust forward. He barely managed to sidestep, but before he could counter, Ochaco appeared behind him, her fist swinging straight for his ribs.
He twisted mid-air, avoiding the direct hit, but she still clipped his side, the force sending shockwaves through his body.
Melissa was already in motion, spinning with incredible speed, using her Star Core Lance like a staff. The dark weapon slammed into Izuku's guard, the impact strong enough to force him back.
Before he could stabilize, Ochaco leaped high above, bringing both fists down in a devastating hammer strike.
Izuku raised his arms to block, but the moment her fists made contact, a gravitational pulse erupted from her body. His feet slammed into the ground, the sheer force cracking the concrete beneath him.
Melissa took advantage of his momentary stall, dashing forward in a blur of dark light. She spun, using the momentum to drive her Star Core Lance into Izuku's abdomen.
He grunted, the impact sending him skidding across the battlefield. His boots dug into the ground, but before he could fully stop, Ochaco was already upon him.
She reappeared in a flash, her knee striking his stomach with tremendous force. Izuku coughed, but before he could be sent flying, Ochaco grabbed his wrist, twisting her body and slamming him over her shoulder into the ground with enough force to crater the battlefield.
Melissa dashed in next, her Star Core Lance raised, but Izuku kicked off the cracked floor, flipping backward just in time to avoid her next strike.
Before he could fully recover, she unleashed a barrage of rapid thrusts, each one pushing him further back.
Izuku finally managed to deflect one of her strikes with his forearm, but that was exactly what they wanted. Ochaco lunged from the side, delivering a crushing sidekick to his ribs, sending him flying into one of the steel pillars.
The impact bent the metal, causing debris to rain down.
Izuku coughed slightly, rubbing his ribs as he pulled himself from the wreckage. He looked at them, watching the determination burning in their eyes. His heart swelled with pride. They weren't just keeping up with him—they were pushing him back.
He had trained them, sparred with them countless times, and now, for the first time since their training, they had him on the defensive.
Izuku: Alright, "he said, exhaling as a grin tugged at his lips". I think you two finally did it.
