At Endeavour Agency:
Endeavor sat in his agency office, seething with rage as he watched the replay of the battle unfold on the large screen in front of him. The High-End Nomu, Hood, had been utterly obliterated in a single move.
His fingers curled into a fist as he leaned forward, his teeth grinding together as he saw Izuku standing there, completely unfazed, his blue aura radiating absolute dominance.
Enji: That should have been my fight.
And to make matters worse, Hawks had chosen to contact Izuku instead of him. Hawks was supposed to be his ally. Instead, he had reached out to Izuku first. His flames flared slightly, his anger growing.
Enji: Damn it, "he muttered, his voice low, but the sheer weight of it caused the temperature in the room to rise".
His mind replayed the past. First, the U.A. Sports Festival—where Izuku humiliated him by breaking his pride down in front of the entire world. He had seen people laugh at him, something he had never seen before, all because of Midoriya.
The resentment had simmered beneath the surface, but it had only grown worse after the HPSC incident. Izuku had openly defied the Hero Public Safety Commission and, in doing so, had exposed their corruption. And to add insult to injury, he had taken Endeavor down in front of everyone.
Enji: That damn brat, "he growled, standing up from his desk".
His flames roared around him for a moment before he forced himself to calm down. He would not let this go. Midoriya might be strong, but he is still just a kid. He had to slip up eventually. And when he did, Endeavor would be watching.
Somewhere else:
Deep in the underground laboratory, Dr. Kyudai Garaki's wrinkled face was twisted into a snarl. His frail hands gripped the edge of the table as he stared at the remains of what had once been Hood. One of his greatest creations had been completely annihilated. Not just defeated—erased.
The sheer power Izuku Midoriya had displayed was beyond anything he had expected. No regeneration, no counterattack. Hood had been turned into dust before he could even react.
Garaki: This is ...Unacceptable, "he whispered, shaking his head".
He refused to be discouraged. No, this was merely a setback. Hood was just one Nomu. There would be more. And next time, they would be stronger.
His sunken eyes drifted toward the large cylindrical container at the back of the lab. It was filled with a dark red liquid, bubbles rising slowly to the surface. Attached to the side was a label: Project: New A.F.O.
A sinister smile crept across his lips.
Garaki: If one Nomu isn't enough... then I'll just have to create something that even Midoriya can't destroy so easily.
Back to Nova:
As soon as Izuku stepped onto Nova's deck, he was met with a tidal wave of voices and a flurry of movement. His classmates surrounded him, their faces alight with relief, pride, and just a touch of mischief.
Denki: EYO, MIDORIYA! THAT WAS INSANE! "he shouted, sparking with excitement".
Eijiro: You went all out, man! "He added, giving him a hearty slap on the back that made Izuku barely stumble".
Momo stepped forward, her expression gentle yet firm.
Momo: You need to be more careful. The amount of energy you expended was—
Kyoka: Reckless? "She interjected with a smirk". Yeah, but also totally badass.
Before Izuku could respond, a small figure barreled through the crowd, her tiny feet pattering against the metal floor.
