Erica's P.O.V
"How." I was awoken to the Doctor pacing around the room, muttering the same thing over and over again.
"Good day to you too." I said sarcastically.
He stopped pacing and stared at me intently. He rushed over to the couch and grabbed my face with his long fingers.
"How?" He mumbled.
"How what?" I asked, getting impatient.
"How did you get off Gallifrey!" The Doctor sprang up from the couch and began pacing again. "It was impossible! I barely got off myself!"
I smiled sadly at him and shook my head.
"You're cute when you're confused." I flounced over to him and poked him on the nose, making him go cross-eyed.
"Thank you?"
I wandered over to the kitchen, the Doctor trailing behind me.
"Hungry?" I spun my head around and looked at him from the cupboard.
"No."
"You've got to be hungry. You look like you never eat." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Do you have fish fingers? And custard?" He asked, head snapping up.
"Odd request, but yes?" I said, sorting through my fridge and freezer.
"Big bowl of custard! And a big plate of fish fingers!" He exclaimed.
I stood there, folding my arms, waiting. The Doctor hesitated.
"...Please?" He asked, making his eyes big and looking like a three year old, about to not get a toy.
"Fine." I sighed.
He started jumping up and down, then running all around my house.
"Wee!" I heard him squeal from the other room. I also heard springs creaking.
I padded up the stairs quietly and peeked into my bedroom. The Doctor was jumping up and down on my bed, sheets and pillows flying. I creaked open the door a little, and stood in the doorway, watching the Doctor jump until he ran out of breath.
"Oh!" He leaped off my bed and walked over to me, rubbing his neck embarrassingly. "Your bed is so much more bouncier than mine!"
I smiled and grabbed his large hand in mine, leading him to my table. I placed the fish fingers and custard at the top of the table. I sat across from the Doctor, observing him with an amused expression.
"Which regeneration are you on?" I questioned, watching him dip the fish fingers in the custard. Quite disgusting looking, might I add.
"Eleven!" He said, poking himself on the nose, then adjusting his bowtie.
"I'm glad to know how old you are!" I laughed.
The Doctor frowned and went back to his fish fingers. I went back to quietly watching, and silently laughing.
"Why are you watching me?" The Doctor suddenly asked, rousing me from my thoughts.
"Because I think it's cute and hilarious how you're eating a disgusting combination of food." I replied, scrunching up my face.
"Well, I used to think it was pretty gross too. But after I regenerated for the 11th time, I had massive cravings! But everything tastes disgusting, until I tried this!"
I nodded. I understood the whole "crazy cravings" thing. I was on my ninth regeneration, meaning I still had some time left.
"Would you like to try some!" The Doctor was suddenly beside me, along with his fish and custard.
"Uh, no." I wrinkled my nose.
"Don't knock it 'till you try it!" He said in a musical voice.
I rolled my eyes and dipped a fish finger in custard.
"Yuck!" I spat out everything and ran to the sink, scraping my tongue and washing my mouth. "Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck!"
The Doctor looked at me sadly when I returned to the table. He looked down and pouted slightly.
"I'm sorry..." I mumbled. "Here, let me try again?"
I dipped another finger into the custard, this time nibbling. It didn't taste so bad with small bites. I smiled encouragingly at him, which he returned.
"You like it! You like it!" He shouted, jumping from his chair and almost upturning the table. It's like I'm dealing with a five year old.
"Woah, there."
I patted his back as he sat back down at the table, resuming his small meal.
"Apple?" I asked him, tossing one in the air and catching it.
"Gross. Apples are rubbish." He said, scrunching up his face to prove point.
"I know." I said, tossing it in the garbage.
I sat and waited for him to finish.
"All done." He muttered, pushing his plate towards me.
"Put it in the sink." I said, walking towards the door and shrugging on a jumper.
He dropped it to the floor and bounded over to me.
"Do you want to go on a space and time adventure!" He asked me excitedly.
"I go on them all the time." I said, smiling.
"Oh. But have you met Vincent Van Gogh?" He said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Yes."
"Mm. How about the... Beaches at Salona?"
"Hmm. No, actually!" I lied. I've been there, but the light blue sand, green sky and purple water were beautiful.
"Let's go!" He stopped at the door and looked down at me grabbing my shoulders, closing his eyes and placing his forehead on mine.
You're beautiful, pure beauty. He thought to me.
I blushed and leaned against his chest.
Thanks. You're... not too bad yourself. I thought back.
He broke away from me and rushed out the door, me following close behind. He held open the door and I stepped inside. Bigger.
"Well. Go on! Everybody says it!" He said, dancing around the controls.
"The outside is inferior to the inside area." I stated, grinning at him.
He fake pouted at me.
"You had to just go avoid saying the correct phrase!" He moped around the centre. "Poor sexy."
I stood there, taken aback and blushing.
"Well, thanks for the complime- You were talking about the TARDIS. Weren't you."
The Doctor nodded and smirked at me. He then came over and hugged me tightly.
"I think you're sexy too." He whispered in my ear, giving me shivers. He broke away quickly and began running around the control panel.
"You're not one for touch, are you?" I called out to him, walking up the steps.
"Yes. I have a strict no-touch rule. It may be exempt around you, though." He flirted.
I smiled at him, shaking my head at the flirtatious Time Lord. He used to be a little bit more reserved, slightly timid. I guess blowing up his home changed him.
"You met her a few hours ago, Doctor! Already flirting!" A Scottish voice called out.
Four pairs of footsteps pounded down the large set of stairs.
"Yep! That's how I roll!" The Doctor yelled, met with silence. "Okay, never saying that again."
I wandered up behind him and hugging him, burying my face in his back. He tensed, then relaxed slightly, patting my arms awkwardly. I smirked up at him.
"Can I help?" I questioned, staring at the Doctor who obviously didn't know how to fly the TARDIS.
"Uh. Go press that button over there!"
"Which one?"
"THE BLUE ONE!"
"WHICH BLUE ONE! THEY'RE ALL BLUE!" I shouted back at him, confused by all the buttons.
"The one that's lit up!"
"They're all lit up!"
He ignored me after that. I frantically thought of my TARDIS lessons. All of a sudden, a memory came to mind. I pressed all the buttons at the same time, making the TARDIS come to a smooth halt.
"How did you do that?" He whispered.
"I pressed all the buttons." I said, sauntering towards the door.
"That was totally, indescribably..." I hesitated, turning to face the Time Lord. "Brilliant!"
He enveloped me in a hug, shaking and spinning me, meanwhile I squirmed about in his tight grip. He released me and grabbed my shoulders, pressing his forehead to mine.
"You're pretty and smart!" He shouted, hurting my ears.
"Ouch." I winced, touching my ears.
"Sorry." He mumbled, already distracted by something else. Again, just like a five year old.
He ran out the door, holding it for me, the red-haired lady and a man with an odd nose.
"So, the Doctor and you?" The red-haired one said, wiggling her eyebrows while grabbing the odd-nosed man's hand. I noticed their weddings rings and smiled.
"Who are you two?" I asked, avoiding her question.
"Oh! Amy! Where are your manners?" The man said, roughing up Amy's hair. "I'm Rory, she's Amy."
I nodded.
"I'm, um... I don't have a name!" I lied. I couldn't tell them my name. Honestly, try look very friendly, but names are powerful.
"Erm. Okay." They said at the same time. Rory shook my hand and Amy grabbed me in a hug.
"Oh! Finally the Doctor won't be all sad and lonely all the time!" She said quietly, into my shoulder.
I carefully detached myself from her.
"I know the Doctor is being very flirty and open with his lovey-dovey emotions, but I'm not sure. I mean, on Gallifrey, I loved him. But he just remembered me or met me an hour ago. I'm still trying to... Sort myself out! Y'know! I do really like his little weird quirky personality, but he's... I don't know. I don't think he loves me, and just tries to flirt... To be... Nice to me? Make me feel good about myself, but I doubt he actually loves me." I finish my long-winded speech and caught my breath.
"You think wrong." A voice said quietly behind me.
I spun around to see a sad looking Doctor behind me.
"I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't think..." I cried out, running to him.
He turned around and wandered away, shaking off my hand that tried to grab his. I stood there, tears filling my eyes. I clapped my hand over my mouth and ran away from him, onto the blue beach. I planted my butt onto the sand and let the tears fall. I sobbed quietly. I'm a bitch, aren't I. The poor Doctor. I can't even believe I said that! Maybe he does love me, or like me. He just met me though! I erased all of his memories before he left, so while he travelled he would be unburdened.
•Flashback•
I stood there, crying as I held the Doctor in my arms.
"I have to do this." He whispered, rubbing my back.
"I-I know! I just don't want you to die!" I sobbed into his shirt.
"If I die, you'll remember me, correct?" He mumbled.
"I'm going to die." I mumbled.
"No you won't." He said firmly.
He turned away and was about to step out of our room. Before he did, I ran behind him, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him. I then applied the "Forget Your Love" patch to his neck.
He froze, then stomped out of the house. He's forgotten. I covered my mouth and sobbed.
He'll never remember me.
He'll never need me.
He'll never see me again.
He'll never feel remorse.
He'll be unburdened.
•End of Flashback•
I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, pulling me close to them.
"I made you forget." I sobbed into the Doctor's tweed.
I knew it was the Doctor because it smelled like him. 700 years, 11 regenerations and it's never changed.
"I never forgot." He murmured, rubbing my back. "I never could've forgot you."
I cried harder and pushed myself into his lap, burying my head in his shoulder. He rubbed small circles into my back, murmuring quiet things I couldn't hear over my crying.
"I searched the whole universe for you. I tried to get over you, but I couldn't. I almost gave up but you, you saved me. I couldn't recognize you, because you regenerated, but you still hug the same way." He mumbled.
I softened my sobs until they were tiny hiccups.
"I still love you." I whispered.
"I've always loved you." He whispered back.
We stayed like that for a while. Me, sitting in his lap, staring at the dark red setting sun. I sifted the sand between my fingers and sighed. The Doctor tightened his arms around me.
"What's wrong?" He asked softly.
"Nothing. This is what I've been dreaming of for hundreds of years." I murmured. "This is perfect."
