Alexia

My head was hurting like hell when I started to wake up. I was confused. I felt something soft underneath me and a hand brushed through my hair and fingertip moved down the side of my face.

I groaned and the person next to me stoped what they were doing. "Alexia" I heard someone asked as I moved my hand to touch my head lightly. "My head hurts" I whispered, my throat dry. My eyes were still closed as I felt the person next to me move.

A few moments later a cold glass was held against my lips. I took a few sips of the cold water, before I leaned my head back again. After a few moments of silence I tried to open my eyes again.

The room as was in was not at the house, the whole place felt unfamiliar. My eyes met the worried once of Luca. "What happened" I asked him, trying to sit up. "And where am I?" Luca helped me sit up straight and I hated it. I did not like it when I had to depend on a man or anyone in general.

"Not sure. The house was attacked and when we all had made it outside we could not see you, so I went back in and when I found you you had been knocked out cold" he told me, reaching for his phone and typing someone.

"The doctor said you have a mild concussion and should take it easy for a few more days" I nodded at his words and laid my head back against the head rest. A few minutes later the doors opened again and my father and my brothers stepped inside. "Thank god you are alright" Niko said and walked over to me.

"You have a bullet wound dump ass, I only got a small concussion" I said, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, but you are my baby sister so" he shrugged his shoulder an sad down at the edge of my bed.

Luca hat gotten up and was now standing a bit more in the side line, while my family was babying me. "Stop guys" I said after they asked me a hundred time if I was fine. "Tell me what happened. So attacked us" I asked, my question meant for my father who stood at the end of the bed, his armed behind his back.

"We don't know. That's the problem. I will have to get back with ace and have a talk with him. It has all gotten much more complicated by now" was all he said before turning around and leaving the room.

"He is really worked up over the fact that someone could enter our estate and kill our guards. We have always been the mafia family who was the safest and yet now that happened" Pedro told me and I nodded at his words. It's been all quite a lot these past days.

My head turned and my gaze met Luca's, who stood further away from the be than my brothers. "I have to go and talk with Alex. Take good care of her" and with that he left the room too, now back to his emotionless ways.

"He was really scared you know. He would not let you go and even yelled at the doctor when he was not working fast enough for his liking" niko then told me and smirked at me. "Stop that" I said back and turned my head away from him.

"Yeah, stop that Niko" Pedro said too and we all laughed. They stayed a bit longer until I got tired and fell asleep again.

I stood in front of the window in the office, looking outside at the pound in front of the safe house. My daughter has been hurt, because someone wanted to kill me. Me and ace had an enemy and we still had to find out who it was.

My phone rang and I picked up the call from Ace. "What are we gonna do" I asked him directly. "I believe there is only one way for us to do this. I do not see any other option" I heard him sigh and closed my eyes. "I know. But fuck I don't any to do that"

"We both know it's going to happen with or without our help" and I knew that he was right. But it has been one thing I really did not wanted to do, one thing I had always promised my self I would not do.

"Alexia needs rest for a few more days. In the following time I'm going to plan a safe flight out of here and we are gonna met up in Italy. I'm gonna sign then, as will you and hopefully we are making the right decision Ace"

I could imagine I'm nodding at my words. "I will get one of the houses on my estate ready. We are gonna move fast with that, give who ever it is no chance to do something against it. Together we are stronger like that and over time we will find out who is after our family's"

I nodded at his words, gazing outside. The sun hid the water just right and created a beautiful light blue. While I could see the wind blow through the trees.

"I hope you are right. I'm gonna stay until our plan is in motion and then I will fly back to Spain with my sons" I told him, turning my back toward the window and sitting down in my chair.

I put my phone on speaker and layer it on the dark wooden desk. "Alright, that's fine with me. I will put one of my best man onto the task of finding out who was behind the attack on your house. Maybe in the underworld they have heard something about that" again I could only nod at his words.

"We will see each other in a few days Ace" I told him and landed back in my chair, before reaching for the whisky bottle, helping myself. "Until then Matteo" and with that our call ended and I placed the glass of whiskey against my lips.

The alcohol burned in my throat, but it was a nice felling. Something else than the guild I was felling actually. Because I knew what I had just done and I knew that she was never going to forgive me for that.
