February 10th 6:23 pm

I was currently cuddled on my couch, watching 'Frozen', and eating vegetable soup, I've watched 'Frozen' so many times I can practically memorize every line.

"But Hans is not a stranger.
Oh yeah? What's his last name?
Of the Southern aisles.
What's his favourite food?
Sandwiches.
Best friends name?
Probably John.
Eye colour?
Dreamy.
Foot size?
Foot size doesn't matter.
Have you had a meal with him yet? What if you hate the way he eats? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?
Picks his nose?
And eats it.
Excuse me sir, he is a prince.
All men do it" I spoke softly, to which I was hushed by my sister. I looked at her slowly and then turned back to the TV.

An hour after the movie ended, I went to my bedroom and plopped on my bed, turning on my iPod to YouTube. I searched up "makeup tutorials". The woman on the tutorial was putting stuff on her face that I didn't even know existed. I quickly walked to the bathroom and pulled out my moms makeup bag and scurried back to my room unseen.

I looked in the bag for something called primer. I couldn't find it so I used the next thing the woman used: foundation. I spread it all over my face like the woman had done. It made my face look like I just came out of a tanning bed.

I continued to follow the steps the woman had done with the makeup. I finally finished and I, in my opinion, didn't think it looked too bad. I opened my bedroom door and walked down the hallway until I was stopped by Tyler.

"Woah" he stopped and laughed. "What's wrong with your face. Mom, Jordyn got into your makeup again!" He continued to laugh and laugh, and then he laughed some more until I ran into my room, my tears falling freely.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!' I yelled, more towards myself then to my brother. "Why do I think I can fix myself. Why do I think I can make myself pretty?"

Tear after tear. They wouldn't stop. They just kept falling. I pulled at my hair and wiped my face off with a makeup remover cloth. I slammed my body onto my bed and cried into the pillow.

I grabbed my iPod off my nightstand and went on snapchat. I tried to see the screen through my blurry eyes. I clicked on McKenna's name and sent her this message: 'hey, McKenna. Can you come to my house to help me with something? Ps. Bring your makeup'

7:42

A knock sounded at the front door. I walked to the door slowly and opened it.

"What'd you n-" I pulled her into my room.

"McKenna, did you bring your makeup?" I asked her. She put her makeup bag in the air.

"Can you help me with something?" She looked confused. "I need you to help me with my face" she laughed.

"You want me to put makeup on you?" She asked, I nodded. She shrugged.

"Okay" she laughed. "Sit on the bed" I obliged.

The rest of the time went on like this:

"Close your eyes. No, relax them. Why are you shutting them so tightly?" And...

"Stop blinking. Jordyn, you messed me up!" And...

"You're impossible"

And then she was finally done. She smiled and clapped her hands together. "I'm such a great friend. Okay, you can look" she put a small mirror in front of my face. I gasped and touched my face, not believing it was me.

"McKenna-I..."

"Do you like?" She smiled.

"I love!" I smiled and hugged her. "Thank you so much!

I wish I could look like this everyday" I told her.

"Maybe you can. I'll teach you"

That day I learned how to do my makeup.

February 11th 6:12 am

I realized I had to wake up earlier now if I wanted to put on makeup and do my hair like McKenna showed me. It takes some time, but it's worth it.

Minutes went by, and I was finally finished with my makeup. 'I look better already', I told myself. Next, hair. I began to get out McKenna's curling wand she let me borrow. After it was all curled, I skipped over to my closet, pulling out dark skinny jeans, a gray sweater, a scarf, and slip-on shoes. I'm surprised McKenna lent me all of this to wear. She said we'd go shopping very soon.

Grabbing my bag, I got ready to walk out the door. My mom stopped me.

"McKenna aren't you going to have breakfast?" My mom asked from the kitchen.

I replied with: "I don't have time"

My brother came in the room minutes later. "I'll take you, Jordyn"

"Really?"

"Yeah" he mumbled, while stuffing a granola bar in his mouth. He grabbed his bag that was on the couch and led me out the door.

"Bye mom" we yelled in unison.

We soon were in his car. He looked at me and started the car. He pulled out of the driveway when he said: "so, what happened to- this?" He glanced at me from the road quickly.

"What?" I asked.

"Why do you look like McKenna?"

"I don't. I look like Jordyn" I told him.

"No" he chuckled. "You look like an exact copy of your friend"

"Tyler, no I don't!" I started getting frustrated.

"whatever you say" he paused and looked at me again. "Jordyn, just know, even if we fight and argue a little bit, I'm still your big brother. And I will stand up for you for anything. I don't care how much it gets me in trouble. No one hurts my little sister" he spoke sincerely. I hugged him tightly.

"Eh, I'm driving here" he said, I laughed and let him go.

"Thank you, Tyler, really" I said. He nodded and turned on the radio. 'All By Myself' came through the speakers. He cranked up the volume and sung at an awful pitch. I covered my ears.

"All by myself" he sung, holding out all the words. "Don't wanna be, all by myself. Anymore"

Once that horrible experience was over, we arrived at the school. I was about to go up to my class before he said, "do you want me to pick you up?"

I looked at him. "Why are you being so nice?".

"I've realized I haven't been the nicest to you. And it hurts me knowing you're trying to change in appearance to make people like you more" he told me honestly.

"But maybe I want this for myself. Maybe I want to look presentable once in my life. Maybe, just maybe, I like how I look" I told him. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Do you want me to pick you up or no?"

"Yeah" I mumbled. I began walking up to my class, going over what my brother had said to me.
